If you don't mind I have an idea for the RP each person participating should lead their own squad of 4 people instead of 6 and they control who those 4 people are and how they are cohesive with each other. Also theme songs, each squad should have one and a main theme for the whole RP cause who doesn't like to listen to music when they read, if each squad has a unique theme it not only helps tell them apart but really set the tone for that persons writing.

(Nice Theme :O) One interesting question is...are we going to do EW, Long War, or a mix of the two for our rp?

(Also, has anyone watched the EU trailer on steam? It was pretty badass, especially the bit with the sectopod.)
most likely just normal EW but if people want to do long war it may be a little difficult due to its vastness

This all sounds interesting, but I'm a bit confused about the details on this RP. So we tell the stories of individual teams of four going on missions and their interactions with the other groups of four controlled by the other RPers? Who acts as the Commander, Bradford, Shen, and Vahlen? Would it include other X-COM staff? And I'm sure all of us half the basic script and flow of the game down, but how do we determine when things happen, like new weapons or armor, or the base assault, or the first ethereal encounters?

I think we were thinking of doing more of a view of the soldiers than command but we can figure out set times that things unlock.

If I can chime in. You guys need a RPGM (role playing game master). Someone that sets the stage, throws in twists to the story and sets the stage for a great experience. However take this just as a suggestions since i really have no expertise in this area.

Well, if that is the kind of Role Playing people are thinking of, I'm technically a game master. I have some experience with D&D, Rifts, Call of Cthulhu, and Mafia, but most of my GMing experience is in All Flesh Must Be Eaten (AFMBE).

Of course, that all depends on whether we are talking about just a community story telling thing or a full-on RPG. I'm honestly still not entirely sure on everyone's intentions.
