When I woke up, I found myself in some kind of infirmary, being watched over by a doctor and somebody who looked like another soldier... They had the look of one, anyways (if anyone wants to take this role, go right ahead). We talked a little; I got their name, I gave 'em mine, and he told me what this place was... A facility for a group called "XCOM", apparently formed to fight the aliens.

I don't know why I did it, but I asked where I could go to sign up.

Next thing I know, I'm a member of the XCOM armed forces. Funny; I never wanted to be a soldier. Too late now, though! Besides, if mom and the other kids are dead... Somebody has to avenge them, right?

-McLaren

Addendum: Come to think of it, why did I end up in an infirmary? I don't remember being injured...

looks like i'm your first friend buddy!

Journal Entry: So I finally got out of the infirmary and got myself signed up for XCOM. But on my way out, I saw this guy in the infirmary who looks like... well, he belongs here. Not like me. Aaron, or "Sven", was his name. I gave him my own, then I got out, did the paperwork, got enlisted.

As I was walking through the base to get to the barracks, I was starting to have a little bit of- ... Okay, a lot of doubts. I've never shot a gun before, much less any of these energy weapons that have apparently been stolen from the aliens. I'm not much of an athlete, even if I can sprint rather fast... And I'm not exactly... brave. But it's too late now. I'm a member of the XCOM project now.

No turning back.

Arriving in the barracks themselves, though, at least got me to calm down a tad. I looked around at all the soldiers... All these men and women were my new brothers and sisters in arms... I might end up fighting alongside them... And dying alongside them, perhaps.

After a little looking around, i saw a man sitting with another, playing cards. It was the man who saved me. That guy in yellow armor who hauled ass and dashed by fears that they were here to kill everything. I walked up and introduced myself, and offered my thanks. Presariov was his name... So after a little bit of talking, I sat down to play, and proceeded to lose every single hand. God dammit.

... Well, better to lose a hand of cards than... do I really need to spell this out?

Journal Entry: First day of being the new pilot in the transport ship and a new jet something called the firestorm and the only thing i bring with me some photos of my dead father and something he gave me before he went to XCOM an old locket and says he had it ever since he was small and pass on to me. I fell so mad that my father died dew to mistake and bad luck but i will make sure that the aliens pay for taking my father away from this world at least they did not do what ever there here for to his noble body. on the ship to XCOM i meet 2 guys on the way named McLaren & Svenska they start talking about how they got here in this mess and i told mine that father pass way by aliens and i am here to finish the work that my father started and i don't think i can be a solider like my father. when we got to base those 2 left for their interview. I went to mine and things went well and i start working on testing the firestorm for bugs and hard time getting to do a test flight the thing moved darn fast so we went slow to maybe 10% power and move from there and that was today in a nut shell some how things well get good soon.

So today while most of the squad was on a mission, I got stuck at the base and got into some hijinks. I hung out with the researchers for a while. They were working on some sweat new armor and stuff. They started working on some sort of 'top secret hypersonic technology' or something so I had to leave. Then I went down to engineering and played some tennis with the workers (never played tennis before, it was kinda fun). After that I ate lunch and took a walk around the base. I found a huge store of 7-up bottles in the storage area near the hangers. There was plenty to go around, so I figured no one would miss a few bottles. Oh, and if anyone says otherwise, I wasn't the one who pulled a fire alarm in the area B storage. I got pretty bored by mid-afternoon, so I went down to the target range and shot the hell out of those traitorous mannequins. Then I went back to my room to take a nap. After I woke up, me and some of the guys played cards like usual. I got to meet a new recruit named Etriax. Pretty cool guy, terrible at cards though. After that, we started a DnD 5.0 campaign and I shared some of the 7-up I found. A couple of hours of dice rolling later, the dropship finally got back. The pilot looks really familiar, but I'm not sure why. I wonder if we've met.

I wasn't on the drop ship this time, so I hung around at base again. Apparently the new dropship pilot is Lethbridge's son or something. Good on him for keeping his legacy alive.

I was just setting up some cards and the fire alarm goes. We're all funneled out of the base to the assembly point, all the research is covered with fire retardant cloth and we're all just standing there in front of the Commander looking slightly annoyed. Presariov just breaks out laughing and we all get sent back inside with a sigh from the Commander. What a guy.

We played some cards after a bit and started up a DnD 5.0 campaign. I prefer 3.5 myself, but I guess that's not for all of these youngsters.

Well, another day at base, but I don't mind. I've made some great friends here. I heard the Commander was considering putting some people into the wizard machine thing, but I don't think I'd make it. I worry too much and that thing with the smoke inside my helmet really shook me up. Perhaps if I had some promotions to set my mind right I'd be able to focus better.

Just got out of the Med-bay after being Gravely Wounded for 9 days, only me this time. I had a lot of time to think about what happened during that mission. If not for the armor i had, i wouldnt be here writing this journal. Many times i was lucky to escape death, but luck alone does not bring comfort to me. If i dont get some of the heavier Titan armor i doubt i will last much longer, luck runs out sooner or later.

We were dropped in Russia on a Highway, in the first few minutes we spot enemy Grunts. As we take positions Loco ices one of them, i move in from the far right. But seeing as i did not have a good shot i decided to pull back and wait for opportunities to arise. Waiting was a mistake, the aliens took advantage and charged at me. I took a direct plasma shot to my chest, but plasma explodes when it comes to contact and not having a helmet makes it even more painful. Next one to get shot was Grelite, he didnt take the shot too well as those flying suits basicly paint a bullseye on you, even with a helmet. We do manage to clean them up afterwords.

The next squad of Grunts was easier than expected. We cought them off guard, weakened them with a Shredder Rocket and all it took was one grenade from Jasper to take all 3 out at the same time. If only it was always as easy as that.

Honestly i was expecting a little diversity from the aliens but apperently not as we find yet another Grunt squad. This is where things got a little freaky. They move in and so do we, in the midst of the dogfight one gets critically wounded by Grelite allowing me to take advantage of its weakened body and mind. I run twords the alien as he was shooting right at me, luckily Grelites plasma did as much damage as i had hoped for and he misses.

When i got into position i somehow merged with the Grunts mind, i could see strings, i could touch the strings. But everytime i did they broke, everytime they broke i heard the beast scream form the inside. It took me 10 minutes to break enough strings for his mind to reject me, but when it did i was put back on the field. What i just did in 10 minutes in his mind took 2 seconds in the real world. Next thing i see is him falling to the ground bleeding from his face from the inside out. Maybe if i learn to not break these strings i can do more, if that is even possible.

I was pretty shook up from the expirience so I failed to notice that the truck was on fire. That was the second time luck pulled me from the deep ground on that mission as i somehow sirvived the explosion. All i can remember after that is that i missed a shot at an alien and we ended up capturing the poor bastard.

Good luck has its storms.

I was the first to be hoisted into a set of Archangel Armour. It was surprisingly light-weight, logical considering its purpose, but it still looked very sturdy. I'd asked Loco if I could borrow his helmet, thinking the small visor on mine could become a problem when taking to the sky. He laughed at me, I guess he thought I was joking.

Soon we were all on the dropship, headed for Russia. On the ride over I glanced over to Rosen, I had wanted to ask him if he thought we were going to flay some minds this battle, but it felt too awkward toward the rest of the squad. It was a quiet flight until the pilot announced our landing. It felt somewhat strange having Lethbridge's son fly us now, the obth of us knowing I was there on his father's final flight.

Right out the gate I threw out a battlescanner, showing the area ahead as clear. Just out of range, as it happens, of a set of Mutons. As soon as Jasper moved up and spotted them, they came rushing toward us. Loco and I fired up our jets in anticipation, but the Commander ordered Loco to take a shot from cover while I was to run into cover next to him. Loco took out a Muton while Jasper retreated, at which point Rosen got hit hard by plasma fire.

I flew up to cover, having my jets ready to take up an elevated position. Loco and I took out another Muton, but a third ran right up behind its expired buddy and nailed me with his Plasma Rifle, just before I put a shot of high-velocity plasma right between its eyes. I am surprised by how well this new armour took the shot. It was a direct hit, but I was far from out.

Loco and I took to the skies and I threw out another battle scanner, revealing a bunched up group of Mutons. Rosen hit them with a shredder rocket, allowing Jasper to finish them off with a single grenade. With the second group down, we moved up once more. It felt good being up high; perhaps a little exposed, but we were so far back we were in little danger of getting shot.

When we encountered the next set of Mutons I took a shot, critically injuring one of them. I took down another one in a single shot and then I saw Rosen run up in range of the Mutons. He barely dodged the streams of plasma fired upon him and then I saw what he had in mind for the critically injured Muton. In an instant he seemed to connect minds with the alien brute and then absolutely destroyed it. The Muton fell over dead; it was strange to see and even stranger to feel.

The third Muton got put down quickly and we moved up only to encounter three more. I instantly took one down while the rest of the squad tried to get into a better position and Stu provided some medical attention for Rosen. When one of the other two Mutons came running up, Loco quickly took care of him, but we had lost sight of the third. We all moved up, Loco and I staying airborn. Much to our surprise, the last Muton had us outsmarted when he flanked us and put a hurting on McBackstabber.

With the grace of a gazelle the Muton dodged a lot of close-range plasma fire, until Loco got off a good hit. McBackstabber ran up and zapped it with his Arc Thrower and finally the threat was over. That last Muton showed some amazing combat skills and capturing it alive turned out to be more than useful, but first we had to fly back to base.

It seems the military wasn't the only section to benefit from the alien technology. The plasma burns I had taken in combat were easily treated by using some sort of tissue printer to transplant healthy skin onto the burned areas. I was asked to help with interrogation of the Muton, trying to have me read its mind. It revealed a story of how this Mutons home was destroyed by the very aliens he was accompanying and he sought revenge.

I suppose he recognized that this was something he needed a strong ally for. This Muton has shown more intelligence than I had ever estimated Mutons of being capable of. The science team is still unsure of its sincerity, but I have seen into its mind. From what I understand he was called Destructor, or that is what his name implies in his language. Perhaps in time others will learn to trust him as well and ultimately let him become a powerful ally. For now, however, it's just us humans playing card games in the barracks.

Journal Entry: Not much going on for quite a while, so I took the last few... several days to procrastinate on making this journal entry. I mean... to poke around the base a bit. All this weird technology, all these hardworking scientists and engineers, the awesome-as-shit interceptors and Firestorms, there's just so much to look at.

Including the memorial wall. Saw that a few nights ago. I didn't think much of it at first because I thought it was just a bulletin board or something... But no, all these pictures of past XCOM soldiers... Seeing that wall hasn't let me sleep easy since. I can't stop thinking about my face being on that wall...

But on a more lighthearted note, I got to see all the cool shit that the science team is putting out. Armor with grappling hooks, armor with invisibility capabilities AND a grappling hook, fucking JETPACK armor! Jetpacks! I want one of those things! I want one so bad! ... And then there's all the stuff engineering puts out. I got to see some stuff bring built while I was there... And while I have no idea what it was, it was fun to watch.

Unfortunately, that's where my fun, more or less, ended. A long period of nothing to do, just playing games with other troopers and refusing the occasional offered drink - I'm twenty, still. But for a long while, I had nothing to do... Well, I did have to go to medical and ask them to get me some meds... Gotta keep my damn ADHD in check or I'll turn into the biggest douchebag on the planet. Aside from that, though, it's been really quiet.

Then out of nowhere, one day, the alarm sounded, and commander Odd called a group of six of us to the hangar. I think they were... Grelite, Jasper, LocoRojo, McBackstabber, Stu Poole and Rosen0x5... Weird names... Then again, I've earned the name Etriax, so I guess I shouldn't complain... But they went out there, did their job, and came back in one piece.

Now, I didn't want them to die, but I didn't expect them all to come back alive... Blame my pessimism, I guess. But one of them looked really fucked in the head! Literally... Wait, that's not right... Well, his head looked all burnt up, but he was alive... Another one of them looked only moderately hurt, but that's not why I write about him... He's a psychic! Holy shit on a stick with a side of onion rings, batman! I saw him staring at this alien (called a Muton or something equally silly) in its containment and one of the labcoats explained that he was communicating with it!

I want telepathy, too, dammit! Think of the applications for combat, being able to communicate without being heard or seen! I learned his name when I had the chance. Colonel Grelite. One of the best snipers we have. I kinda want to corner him and ask him more about his abilities... I'll have to do that sometime soon...

Journal Entry: After a few hours in the infirmary the doctor let me out on crutches and a few bandages here and there.
I was amazed by the size of the XCOM base, it looked kind of like a giant dome to me.
After a quick look around i made my way to the barracks and tried to find something to do.

There was a bar, a few billards tables, cards, exercise machines, and a few other things.
But what caught my eye was a flag draped over a big wall with pictures and things scratched on to it.
I read the most recent one, "Lethbridge Gin- The Best drinking buddy a guy could ask for."
As i finished reading i heard a growl to my right, from the bar, as if someone was daring me to read more.

I laughed nervously and used my crutches to get away as fast as i could.

What? i didn't want to get killed right after signing up!

Anyway, I made my way to the cards table and took a seat.
3 other people were there, they introduced themselves as Warrick, Presariov, and Rosen.
I think i had seen Rosen in the infirmary as well.

After a few rounds, Presariov quickly excused himself and left the table.
A few minutes later a large fire alarm sounded and sprinklers soaked everyone in the barracks.
I grinned as i heard what sounded suspiciously like Presariov snickering in the other room.

Later another alarm sounded and 6 people quickly sprang up and ran out of the room.
I guess that was another alien attack.
Hopefully everyone would be okay.

When i heard two people in the base were psychic i got really excited.
When they said anyone could be psychic i freaked out.
It would be awesome if I had amazing powers!
I could be a person that could control minds, and flip things around and stuff!

But the testing process... i don't think i could handle that.
Isolated in a tube for 10 days? 10 days!?
That might be too much for me.

Also all this advanced weaponry and armor, anyone can use that stuff!
So i'm gonna be satisfied no matter what!
Well, unless i die on my first mission...

But lets not think about that, it's too early in my time here to think about that.
Anyway, i have to go now, i have a bunkmate that's really pissy about me staying up this late.
I think his name was... Grelite maybe?
I don't know but he's a Colonel so i should probably stop here so...

Svenska out!

Wait, no i sounded like an anime character, uh....

End log.

No, that makes me sound like captain kirk.

Peace o-

(Recording stops abruptly after a struggle for the recorder is heard.)

Waricck seems to be picking up on my hints pretty well. I am glad he's still open to being taught by me after I've felt somewhat shunned by some of the staff in the base. He seems to adapt to the Plasma Sniper Rifle better than I have been, yet I'm not sure if it's merely familiarity with the practice range. I can tell he feels the need for a change of scenery, hopefully the Commander will grant him as much soon.

This mission, however, the Squaddie to come along was Fashion!Batman!. We were to intercept a UFO that touched down in Canada. On our flight there Rosen managed to crack a joke that the Canadians had probably invited them in for a stack of pancakes and we all had a good laugh before it was time to get to business. As we touched down Loco and I fired up our jets and flew out and up as the rest of the squad moved into cover below us.

Jasper once again took point as we kept an eye out from the sky. He'd spotted a pair of floaters and I took out one and critically injured the other, letting Jasper finish it off. Loco spotted two more moving up to our left flank and took one out. The other got its mind shattered by Rosen after which Loco got his sights on it and shot it out of the sky. Now it was time to move up to the UFO.

Loco and I once more held back in the skies, whilst the rest moved up to and into the alien vessel. It seemed clear, at first, so the Commander ordered the two of us to touch down and approach the ship on foot. Right then a Cyberdisc, two Drones and three Muton Elites came running at our guys in the ship. Never have I seen a man run as fast in full armour as I saw Jasper dash out of there. Even the man named after Batman himself couldn't keep up.

Rosen and I took out the Cyberdisc as it came flying out of the ship, but when nothing came out after it, we got a little nervous. McBackstabber was still sitting by the ship. Right then three Elite Mutons moved up on Rosen and started blasting him with plasma fire. He seemed almost unphased, pulling out his rocket launcher and blasting the fat triplets. The explosion took out the part of the hull covering up the Muton in the back, which I promptly finished off with a bolt of plasma to the head. Loco managed to take down the other two with a few rapid shots.

When I entered the ship I could sense a psionic presence at the front of the ship. We moved up to the cockpit and breached the door, revealing two Sectoid Commanders inside. I shot one in the head right as the door opened after which McBackstabber and Fashion!Batman! ran in and captured the other alive! With that all enemies were taken care of and we were headed back home.

Jasper and Rosen were both promoted to Colonel, certainly well deserved for both. Rosen had to be shipped off to medical for three days, however, so we delayed the celebration. The Sectoid Commander we captured was to be interrogated. This time, however, I was not brought to help. The scientists feared that the psionic powers of the alien would be too dangerous to confront head on with someone who only recently got to know those powers (which would be me).

Not being occupied as much has given me the chance to socialize a little more and answer some questions people had in the barracks about my powers. I feel a lot more comfortable being able to take about it, but it still feels as if there's something big is looming 'round the corner.

Today this morning after my coffee and meal i got sent for a UFO over Nunavut, Canada and had to take my coffee to the transport to take the team to Nunavut. the team was Grelite, Jasper.VTH, LocoRojo, McBackstabber, A new Assault named Fashion!Batman! and Rosen0x5. off we went to Canada i played the mission briefing this is standard UFO Landing be on guard their maybe some aliens still alive and once you guys are done with aliens i make the call to get clean up on the UFO. they left and i drank my coffee and enjoyed the fireworks with McBackstabber's new shotgun shocked that oversize hand cannon is a shotgun of all things and started sent the teams video feed to base. So i just turned the auto guns just in case things get nasty. some time later went as fast as i think it was going to be everyone was OK and got a nasty commander and got him in place and made sure he won't mess with anyone head. Got the clean up team here to Canada and start scraping the UFO down and i tell you space metal is hard to cut though got to see the inside of a UFO man if only dad was still here to see this and we got the team and all that space metal and let me just say it was hard to get it all in. R&D got some new pistols and October is here in 3 days and Rosen0x5 in medical in 3 days also. Not a bad day can't wait what the next day be like.

When i heard that a UFO had touched down over canada i didn't really care too much.
When i heard that canada was where the commander was born i started laughing my ass off.
Then Presariov and I initiated... operation canadian jokes.

The Commander was in his chair, in (what i heard were) the amazing sweatpants.
It was about 30 minutes after the other guys left and they were fast approaching the dropsite.
I snuck up behind him and said, "So you're from canada, eh?"

I could tell i scared the shit out of him because he spilled his coffee all over some important looking papers.
When he glared at us we were laughing too hard to see it.
He said, "Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want i'm used to it."

This disappointed me a bit beacuse i was always able to get a rise out of my old commander.
Our laughs started up again after presariov said, "Well that's good, because there's no use in crying over spilled syrup, eh?."
i'm not even sure if it made sense but i still laughed.

After having a coffee mug thrown at my face we quickly ran away.
Oh yeah, i forgot to mention i got all healed up after a few more days.
presariov said he had to go take care of some things so we both went our seperate ways.

At about 8:00pm I was passing by the research labs on my way to the barracks when i saw a waste bin full of alien corpses.
First i grimaced at the smell, but then i grinned as i got an idea.
My next prank was about to get a little sadistic.

5 minutes later i walked to the barracks with my hand around a sectoids neck.
When i reached the barracks i went to the door to the lounge and sat in a crouched position outside.
Hiding behind the wall i pressed the button to open the door.

As i heard a few questions as to why the door had opened with no one there i extended the sectoids head in front of the door and screamed BLAARGHGH.
As the sectoids head exploded in a burst of color, I let out a very manly squeak and fell back.

Before anyone could see i was the one who did this i hauled ass up the stairs and to my bunk.
Just as i jumped into my bed and grabbed a random magazine i heard the door open, and in stepped grelite.
He asked what i was doing and i said i was reading.

He gave me a skeptical look and said, " You read upside down?" i looked at the magazine and noticed my mistake.
i quickly said, "I'm dyslexic."
He gave me another weird look and left the room.

So here we are now, in the present.
It's about midnight now and grelite came back into the room just now so i should probably get off before i have another near death experience.

Also I still haven't figured out how i'm going to end these things without sounding like a jackass.
So now i'm just going to end my recordings in abrupt places that will slightly confuse you.

Like so.

I've been doing a lot of training with Grelite since he's got out of the wizard tube. These plasma rifles have to be held slightly differently than the usual slug throwers that I'm used to, something to do with the elerium stores in the stock or something. He reckons I'm doing quite well at adapting to this new technology, I hope I get to see if that's the case soon. I think the training's as much of a benefit to me as it is to him, he's definitely feeling a bit left out around the base since he can do weird stuff with his mind now. I was thinking about why I'm OK with the whole thing.

Most people here are asking questions all the time. Why are the aliens here? What do they want? Should we really use their technology? What was really in the sandwiches in the canteen yesterday? Me, however, I'm just happy to know as much as I need. I know these bastards need to get off of our planet as soon as possible and I know that whatever power's Grelites got he's going to use it for good. Maybe that's why people aren't comfortable around him, are they scared?

Some joker decided to bring one of the sectoid corpses from R&D into the barracks. I managed to pop it with my pistol. Hopefully that'll scare whoever did it.

Anyway, I think that new guy McClaren's pretty pumped for all the new technology we're getting as much as me. Hopefully we'll both get to give it a go sometime.

Gin's son's a damn good pilot, apparently. He's held in high respect around here, as was his father. I still can't believe the guy went down to save the team. He was a big part of life at base.

I shouldn't worry about stuff as much. It's not good for me. The usual group headed off for a raid earlier, everyone came back without a scratch except for Rosen. He's a tough nut, he'll be out of the ward in 3 days. I bet he'd be thankful for some of that super-heavy armour from R&D.

Ah, Canada. Funny place that one, thats where i got my nickname "Moose" from. Before i was assigned to the Xcom project i was part of a patrol outpost stationed in Canada. We were sent to check out strange activity in a nearby forest, when out of nowhere a wild moose appeared. Apperently he didnt like us passing by its territory so it charged at us. He was going for the officer in command so i pushed him out of the way and proceeded to tackle the beast with my bare hands only to get my vest stuck on its horns and dragged in deeper into the forest. When i finally break loose i start running before he decides to have another got at it, a few hours later i meet up with my squad and the next thing i knew i was a genuine 'Moose". The officer did put in a good word for me in high command tho so i cant stay negetive at the events that occured during that trip in the forest.

But putting good times aside, there was another UFO landing that we discovored. In the mission briefing i noticed i was the only one stuck with the Carpace Armor, where as everyone else had the new shining Titan and Archangel model. Man does that thing look good on anything, especially with matching helmets. After the brief Lethbridges son took us to our destination, having learned a few good canadian jokes i thougth i would lighten the mood along the way.

After the landing we could only see broken down trees, and a few branches breaking here and there but that was all. After moving up on the UFO LZ Jasper scouted ahead and got eyes on Heavy Floaters. FashionBatman, one of the newer recruits, tried to connect a hit with one of them but had no luck, Grelite and Loco on the other hand having access to Archangel armor had no trouble puting them to sleep.

We stumble across some more Heavy Floaters, Loco takes out one of them, i decide it would be best to practice my psi abilities but i could only do so much on non wounded aliens. After that Loco busts the Floaters gun giving FashionBatman a second chance at making a name for himself, but he got off an unlucky shot and did not hit. So Loco ended up taking that one aswell.

We finally see the ship, FashionBatman, Jasper and Backstabber move in to secure the entrance while i stayed back to cover any flanks. Suddenly i hear shooting and explosions. Next thing i see is the 3 of them running for cover being followed by a Cyber Disc. My AP Plasma rounds melted that things armor into butter, and Grelites plasma sniper had no trouble going thrue butter.

As my gun was cooling off some Muton Elites took advantage and took shots at me managing to injure me, so i used the second best thing. I managed to shred 3 of those Elites, hoping my squad can take care of the rest as i was in no condition to take another shot. But they did not disapoint, Loco and Grelite got my back, Backstabber tried to help out which i am greatful for. I was even more greatful for Jaspers heals tho.

After that fiasco we enter the ship and in one of the rooms we find 2 sectoid commanders. Grelite one shots one of them while FashionBatman moves in and manages to fatally wound the other sectoid. Jasper then proceeds to capture the other sectoid, i was really glad we didnt give them a chance to use any psi abilities. After much inspection of the field we finally got the OK to return to HQ.

Upon arrival i and Jasper were both promoted to Colonels, we had medals given to us by the commander himself. It was a little awkward because i was on one of those medical beds on wheels AKA the only one not standing during the ceremony. But after that was over i got rushed to the med bay as usual. The others assured me they would wait for me to get better before they started celebrating, mighty nice of them but i dont expect them to keep away from the liquor for 3 entire days days.

Journal Entry: You know, journal, I'm glad I don't have to talk to you to record my entries. Half the things I say here make me feel like a total pussy... Don't get me wrong, I'm not fearless by any means. I'm only human... and they're only... well, alien... -s.

Grelite, LocoRojo, Jasper, Rosen, Batman, and McBackstabber got back from a mission not long ago. They were mostly unharmed, but alive nonetheless. Better alive then coming back sealed inside of a tupperware, evacuated from the field with a spatula. But I digress.

Besides. Operation "Purple Mountain". The fuck, Commander? Why "Purple Mountain?" I know it's not really my place to question the name of the operation, but I kinda have to wonder what inspired such an... interesting name...

After they got home, and after everyone got settled in, I spotted Colonel Grelite walking away from R&D. I decided to satisfy my curiosity, and I started asking details about his powers... God damn... if telepathy and combat-effective mind-fucking are just a small fraction of his potential power... Man, I want psychic powers! I want 'em bad! So fucking bad! (if you'll pardon my French, journal)

While I had his attention, I also pried a little on the nature of Operation Dumb Name. Apparently a UFO landed somewhere in northern Canada... Er... Canadia. And they captured one of the alien's commanders while there. Well... if we're doing that well in this war, then maybe I don't have so much to worry about... especially with squadmates like these!

Another fun fact, as I learned today: Commander Odd hails from the mystical land of Canadia! Don't get me wrong, journal, I have nothing against Canadians... But still, it's just fun to make the jokes.

And speaking of jokes... Goddamn, Sven. That was an awesome prank. I can't believe you got away with it. I half expected Commander Odd to come in and hit you with an Arc Thrower or something like that. But I also saw Warrick shoot the corpse with his handgun... but you know what, I kinda have to wonder...

How is it possible to have mastered creating all these amazing plasma based weapons, and yet the science team has only just finished researching how to build a plasma pistol? It boggles my mind...

In other news, though, I got rather curious about home... so I got on Facebook for the first time in... forever. I live in Wisconsin, you see, and apparently things aren't very bad back home... I'm kinda regretting indulging my curiosity, though... I found out that my Mom escaped with her life from the hotel... But also that most of my siblings weren't so lucky... I already knew of Ryan's fate... But only Nigel, my nine-year old kid brother got away with his life...

I managed to get them to chat with me with FB's own app... I hated not being able to tell them where exactly I was... only that I was somewhere in South America and that I couldn't say anything more... But... at the very least, I know that they're alive, and that they know I'm alive...

And yet, I feel terrible... I should feel more torn up about losing my brothers and sisters... But I'm not... I'm sad, but it feels like I could actually get over it... Does that make me a bad person? Probably.

In other news, though, it seems that Wisconsin is currently alien free... Or relatively so... People are carrying around weapons and shooting any aliens they see... I would expect this from Montana, not Wisconsin, but I'm not complaining. I don't know what the cops are doing about it, but as long as aliens die and humans don't, I'm happy.

I should probably end this entry now... I need to devise a way to top Sven's antics... That, and I need a new pencil. This one's basically a tiny piece of lead and nothing more at this point. I'm gonna stop here.

Last few days was amazing first thing new ghost tech now makes people invisible and R&D was done working for a few days and now working on some relay so a UFO showed up and i was sent to try the firestorm and note i had to change one ship with a EMP weapon so i was getting a trail run and i got to the ship like a blot of thunder and quickly shot it down with no damage and back to base the same thing and i prepare transporter and ask Odd to put seat belts and sent the team to Russia. The team was Grelite, Jasper.VTH, A SQ. Named Waricck, McBackstabber with new ghost tech, an SQ. named Little Dorgan and Rosen0x5 and gave a briefing from the recorder saying that it is a small UFO so this is an easy task and as soon we landed and left like 5 min later all OK and bring in 2 live aliens with no new work for R&D and after scarping the UFO they were looking at me and so i came out and said i am the son of Lethbridge Gin, and it's Simon if you all asking and i know he is dead and it will take time for me to let it go. Today the new relay was finish and working like a cat but some time later the whole base shakes like mad and i say what in god name is going on down there i will be right down and fell like the base going to blow and as soon the shakes started it stopped and the relay became staple and i was in the center that a yellow scan showed something there before a odd looking purple dot on radar and it was fast and report do you want me to take that thing down............
End Of Recording........
The End Begins?
