Name: Atka Ipiktok
Role: XCOM Commander, Ambusher
Sex: Female
Age: 42
DoB: December 8th, 1995
PoB: Village in Nunavut
Race: Inuit
Nationality: Canadian
Height: 5'4
Weight: 128 lbs
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style : Fauxhawk Ponytail
Eye Color: Navy Blue
Immediate Family: Ipiktok (Father, MIA), Yaralria (Mother, MIA), Nouja (Sister, Deceased), Yakone (Daughter, 19)
Place of Residence before joining X-COM: Toronto, Canada

Appearance:

Atka is in strikingly good shape for someone her age. While she is nearing the end of her prime it is hard to tell by looking at her. She is fairly short, but has an edge to her that tends to overshadow that foible. The Commander’s attire contrasts with her attitude. The Inuit woman’s long black hair is arranged in a fauxhawk ponytail that seems to highlight her intense dark blue eyes. She wears a black leather jacket with numerous unhinged clamps over a white dress shirt. Her pants are brown tattered khakis, and her hiking shoes are a dark brown. She typically wears white gloves along with the rest of this.

Personality:

Atka is a woman jaded by persistent hardship and suffering. Although she has not completely lost her kind nature, it is buried between a strict, formal, and exacting exterior. She has little patience for those that can’t follow orders - even if that includes her own daughter. Nevertheless she values all contributions to the cause of the resistance. She utterly despises the aliens and ADVENT and any within their ranks. She considers ADVENT shameless traitors and the aliens beings cruel enough to be called demons - and often refers to them as such in Inuktitut when riled up.

The Commander, despite her cold, rough exterior is immensely protective of her allies. She does her best to ensure minimal losses, and has good intentions for the world. Still, evidence would point to the Liberation of Earth perhaps being subordinate to a more basic impetus for this fight: revenge.

Biography:

Atka was born in an Inuit village situated on an island north of Taloyoak. The First Nations people there retained a traditional way of life. Atka herself was unconventional in some ways. While she was an excellent bone carver, she wanted to hunt alongside the boys, and was able to convince her father to allow her to do so. It was on her first hunt that she discovered a means of mentally communicating with animals - a power she used to comfort a dying alpha wolf. Her fellow villagers called this psionic empathy ‘spirit talking’, a title not far from the truth.

When Atka was sixteen, her adventurous attitude was drawn to the words of a visiting Canadian army recruiter. Again her father - and more tepidly her mother - were content to let Atka follow her own path. Given a chance to see the wider world and protect her people’s culture, Atka signed up for the army two years later. In boot camp she worked hard to improve her English and learned the ways of urban culture, while her active lifestyle made physical training more bearable.

She graduated with flying colors and quickly was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. She proved her merit as a leader by diffusing a hostage crisis in the Toronto airport and later commanded a platoon deployed to the Middle East as a Lieutenant. After such distinguished service she was offered an even higher rank but declined to remain close to her unit. The exemplary Canadian officer could never have been prepared for the coming conflict in 2018 however.

The alien invasion in March quickly resulted in Atka being offered a combat role in the X-COM Project. The Inuit woman joined up, meeting a man named Desmond Walker there and eventually falling in love with him. She participated on the ill-fated raid on an enemy supply ship that left all of the squad but her and Desmond dead and set the tone for a bitter struggle that was to follow. She was involved in the evacuation of New York City during a terror attack, the rescue of UN General Van Doorn, and the alien base assault in India. All the while she grew closer to fellow soldiers and her superiors, and her psionic power grew.

Nevertheless, when X-COM HQ in Greenland was attacked, all her power and skill wasn’t enough to save the project. Her parents, rescued in the alien base assault, were again taken from her or killed, and many of her friends perished. To make matters worse Desmond lost his resolve and deserted once the smoke had cleared and the survivors came out of the rubble they had hidden in. Atka vowed to continue the fight as acting commander but was left markedly disillusioned.

She and the others spent the next five years beginning to jumpstart the resistance movement from Taloyoak. There, she had to come to terms with the daughter Desmond had left her with, and did so with indifference. In 2023 ADVENT was founded and the team had to head to the Yukon Territory to try and lose alien forces and collaborator troops hunting any potential survivors of X-COM. The hunters succeeded in killing off a few of the group, but Atka continued to build the resistance with the help of the Shen family and Joseph Chambers. The noose tightened, and Atka’s sister - her only surviving family left - made a choice.

Nouja sacrificed herself in a manner that convinced the aliens she was the last one, and they finally relented. Her sister’s death left Afka depressed and vengeful. She began to move south with the remaining survivors, aggressively searching for a means of striking back at the aliens. The opportunity to do so came with the raid to commandeer the Avenger, but the operation cost Atka two fellow soldiers as well as her right eye and left limbs. This seemed t be the final blow that shattered Atka’s will to go on and left her despondent - and in the process destroyed her broken relationship with her daughter.

Atka’s resolve would only return when Dr. Tygan and Dr. Kazuko were brought into the team. They bore with them experimental psionic cybernetics that could replace the prosthetics Lily made for her and allow the Commander to fight on the battlefield again. Abandoning her old trepidations about augmentation, she underwent the procedure, and spent the following years retraining herself physically and mentally in order to finally exact vengeance upon the occupiers of Earth.

Eye Color: Blue
Immediate Family: Iyumi Kazuko (Mother, 41), Kanoe Kazuko (64, Grandmother), Hoshi Kazuko (Grandfather, 72)
Place of Residence before joining XCOM: N/A

Appearance:
Kai is unique in which his oriental features are his most prevalent ones, something that is rare nowadays. He has a clean shaven face and long dark hair he keeps combed to the side so he may work without it disrupting him during work. He has bright blue eyes that sometimes flash green while he works, and his smile is a weapon that is kept perfect.

During work hours, Kai keeps a very professional look, and his attire will show, as it consists of a light blue scrubs shirt which he has multiple pairs of in case it ever gets dirty during an operation. Overtop of that he wears his pristine white lab coat which Kai takes strides in keeping its condition. Kai does not bother with a tie as it only gets in his way and he finds it extremely annoying, and he wears usually either scrub pants or a dark colored pair of pants to complete the outfit.

Off duty, Kai cannot make up his mind on what he likes to wear. Sometimes he wears a black baseball jersey with red japanese text on it open buttoned with a long black long sleeved shirt underneath it and a matching black and red cap and black jeans. Sometimes he wears a white tee shirt and normal jeans. Sometimes he wears nothing but briefs and doesn’t go out at all, all valid choices for Kai.

Personality:
Kai is a friendly and bright guy with a wondrous disposition on most days, but if he was that all the time he would have long since thrown himself off a skyscraper because of how monotonous his life would have become. While true the Japanese man is a great guy to be around, he isn’t one for large crowds much, and has a terrible case of gynophobia in which not only does he feel extremely uncomfortable being alone around women, if he is touched by one, he is likely to get a bloody nose, stemming from the fact his mother was a rough houser with him and another certain someone constantly living with him was the cause of the phobia.

Biography:

Kai Miyagi Kazuko was born on February 20th, 2014 to single mother Iyumi Kazuko in the Japanese capital of Kyoto. Kai’s father strangely enough was an up and coming baseball star who dated his mother for a short time before he moved on because of work, and although Kai never met his father, he had a deep admiration for the man, one which his mother was constantly jealous of and always had to prove she was of course the most awesome parent ever, becoming a sort of game between mother and son which helped bring them close together. During the alien war in 2018, Iyumi took Kai away from the city and to a mountainous village in the north, which was a lucky break when half the capital was decimated by an alien WMD.

After learning of the capital’s destruction, Kai’s mother made the right decision of staying put with her parents in the village, and lived there for several years where Kai thrived as both a toddler and a child. He was given a formal education by his grandfather, was given love and affection by his mother, and oddly enough, his grandmother taught him about spirituality, meditation, and the arts of chi healing. Everyday he would be made to meditate like a monk and Kai frequently visited a shrine that laid near the village, and it was one day at this shrine that Kai met a strange woman by the name of Sukuna. Kai developed a close bond with Sukuna but the strange thing was that no one else ever met Sukuna in the village, and Kai would later found out that she lived inside of Kai, and was a sort of manifestation of his inner being. That or she was literal Kami (or god) that decided to reside in his mind, a question both of them still ask to the present day.

Of course, not everything could stay the way they had been, and when Advent was formed in 2023, there was an executive order given that island nations had to be evacuated and moved elsewhere, and due to the remoteness of Kai’s village, it took two years for him and his family to be found and moved to Dome Fuji in Antarctica. Kai found little luxuries in the bio dome life however the greatest part of his time in the biome was definitely him joining a baseball team that pitted city sectors against one another, and Kai turned out to be an amazing shortstop, pitcher, and hitter, much like his never met father.

In 2028, when Kai was 14, his rather unique healing abilities garnered the attention of Advent Peacekeepers and Kai was given an opportunity to join the Advent Scientist Division as an intern of sorts. Kai said goodbye to his mother and his grandparents and he was moved to the Dahlsworth Megacity, and it was there that he was assigned under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Tygan, where the two were put to work on biotechnology. Kai found himself usually at odds with Tygan but that didn’t stop the two from developing a teacher/student bond and when Tygan was the one who suggested the escape from Advent control, he had to accept, Kai’s knowledge of anatomy and healing prowess allowing the scientist to remove both their chips but at his teacher’s request, did not heal the scar from the operation when the two fled to Mexico.

It was there that Kai was introduced to the Avenger, and despite his young age, with a recommendation from his teacher Robert and his budding curiosity and natural affinity for knowledge, as well as Sukuna in his head, he took up the position of lead physician and doctor the essential main staff.

Special Abilities: Biokenetic healing, chi channeling, meditation.

Name: Sukuna-Biko-Na
Role: Kami of Healing and Rain
Sex: Female
Age: ???
DoB: ???
PoB: Japan
Race: Kami
Nationality: Japanese
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 131 lbs
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style: Long, straight, down to waistline. Back done in two loops that are held up by a golden pin.
Eye Color: Purple
Immediate Family: Kai Kazuko (Host, 24)
Place of Residence before joining XCOM: Kai’s Head

Appearance:
A pinnacle of perfect beauty, Sukuna has a timeless beauty to her that radiates both youth and timeless wisdom. She wears a flowing blue dress that exposes her sides with a see through ribbon she is either holding or has tied around her waist. She has leather bracers tied to her arms and she wearing thigh high blue and white boots. She also has a golden piece of jewelry on the bicep of her arm with a blue gem in the shape of a rain drop.

Personality:
Sukuna is both a girly schoolgirl who likes to flirt and tease as well as a timeless teacher who takes her job as a Kami seriously. Although she has been with Kai since he was a young boy, she has never complained about being his partner, though with Kai that is not always true and knows everything about the man. She even knows things that even he doesn’t since she is apart of his subconscious, and uses his gynophobia, (a phobia that partly is her fault) to her advantage to tease Kai when the two meet during meditations and daydreams. Since only Kai has been able to see her, she usually uses that to her advantage in ways that Kai keeps private and would die if ever uttered.

Name: Robert Tygan
Role: Chief Scientist
Sex: Male
Age: 51
DoB: February 5th, 1987
PoB: Baytown, TX, USA
Race: African
Nationality: American
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 166 lbs
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style : Bald
Eye Color: Brown
Immediate Family: Isabel (Younger Sister, 48) Ryan (Younger Brother, 44)
Place of Residence before joining XCOM: Dahlsworth, North American Sector

Appearance:

Tygan is fond of professional clothing. He wears a moss-green button-up shirt hidden on the sides beneath a pristine white labcoat. He has dark brown formal pants and black dress shoes, and will wear gloves at all times while on-duty. He usually wears lab glasses that are for safety purposes rather than to correct visual defects.

He did not attempt to halt his balding despite previous access to ADVENT treatment that could prevent it; instead, he embraced it as part of his aura of wisdom. This did, however, mean that the scar left behind from the hasty procedure to removal the implant inbetween his parietal lobe and cerebellum remained unnervingly visible afterwards. The doctor accepts that as well, a reminder that despite the allure of ADVENT membership it is not worth the price he had to pay.

Personality:

Robert is brilliant and thorough, a genius by many standards. Not only is he intelligent, but he is able to adapt and learn new things best by observing them for himself - a form of visual learning well-suited to his current station. Combine that with a photographic memory and it is no wonder that he was sought out by human-run think tanks and later the ADVENT Coalition's Scientific Branch.

However, this comes at the cost of being a very logical man that rarely brings the emotions of those around him into play - and not always his own either. Tygan tends to be impatient with those under his auspices, being typically ahead of them except in more conceptual areas that he cannot discern quickly for himself. He comes off as arrogant - and may indeed be to some extent.

That is not to say he doesn't have a moral compass driving him. He cannot abide the atrocities ADVENT and the Ethereal Protectorate commit as unrestrained science, and prides himself in having the drive and daring to work alongside the underdogs. It does not appear he has any plans to return to ADVENT's fold.

Biography:

Robert S. Tygan was born in the town of Baytown along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. He was only there for his early childhood, and tends to have foggy memory of that time. His parents were middle class at the time, but when the Tygan family moved to Houston his mother, a secretary, became a business executive through a combination of a stroke of luck and a seized opportunity.

The family’s newfound wealth meant that Robert had access to a wider variety of educational opportunities. He gladly left public education behind and devoted himself to his studies in private school. His photographic memory and superb visual learning made for a potent pair, and by the time he applied for colleges he was on the fast track to Princeton. There, he earned a Ph.D in Astrophysics, and returned to Houston to pursue his passion to work for N.A.S.A.

The doctor worked for the next five years, making great strides towards advanced flight technology. He worked on the N.O.V.A. System, which expanded the Hubble Telescope’s capabilities to be able to detect gravitational distortions that he theorized originated from extraterrestrial spacecraft. Little did he know X-COM would use his designs for their satellites.

When the Invasion occurred, he was initially skeptical of efforts to combat them. He would prefer to reason with the aliens rather than simply fight them, but he came to be disturbed by their methods, particularly terror attacks that seemed to him astonishingly primitive means of reprisal. Horror turned to disgust when the war was won and the aliens dismantled N.A.S.A. But his disillusionment with the aliens would be flipped on its head when ADVENT was founded and they sought the doctor out.

He was offered a chance to continue his work on a pulse engine design suited for ADVENT’s budding aerospace field. Wanting to get back into the public field of science Tygan accepted, and helped develop ADVENT aircraft - though he was suspicious about not being given access to the full purpose of the craft he was assisting development for. All members of the project contributed pieces to the whole, and the higher-ups put the puzzle together privately.

Later in his service, he was paired with a Japanese biologist named Kai Kazuko to work on biotechnology. They worked together to build gene therapy capsules and improve on similar designs, to create implants for ADVENT forces and citizenry - implants they had been forced to accept as members of ADVENT’s science division in 2028. These regulatory measures, Tygan’s earlier suspicions, and tasks that were increasingly militaristic in nature led the pair to seek out help from the local resistance in desperation after hastily removing their implants so they would not simply be arrested the minute they decided to defect.

Texas’s resistance forces acted with surprisingly subtlety, almost as if they were receiving advice, and helped sneak the two out of the Dahlsworth Megacity. They ended up in Mexico, and were introduced to the Avenger. Tygan was astonished by what XCOM had managed to accomplish, and remarked that he should have been among them all along. He gladly took up a position as chief scientist, and strives to bring his subordinates up to speed to prepare to make a move on the gilded lie that is ADVENT.

Special Abilities:
- Photographic Memory/Excellent Visual Learner

Name: An-Yi Shen
Role: Chief Engineer, Specialist
Sex: Female
Age: 27
DoB: July 25th, 2010
PoB: Taipei, Taiwan
Race: Chinese-German
Nationality: Taiwanese
Height: 5'10
Weight: 145 lbs
Hair Color: Greasy Black
Hair Style : Simple, Straight, and Short
Eye Color: Plain Brown
Immediate Family: Raymond Shen (Father, Deceased), Valda Vahlen (Mother, MIA)
Place of Residence before joining X-COM: Taipei, Taiwan

Appearance:

Lily keeps her hair cropped short and wavy so it doesn't get in her way. Her clothing is similarly designed for work. She has a pair of durable shoes and a pair of black jeans, as well as an orange shirt with the XCOM logo on the front. Her shirt shows off muscle built from two decades of scavenging and survival. Over that is a tactical rigging vest where she keeps various tools; there is always a wrench among those.

Over her hands are protective guard gloves that shield her from the more dangerous of jobs. She tends to wear them off-duty as well however. An-Yi has a helmet for welding or disassembling mechanicals. On her right shoulder is a tattoo depicting, quite simply, an Elder being crushed by the fist of the resistance.

Personality:

An-Yi is always in motion. She can't stand being idle, and will be frustrated if she ever is unable to work. This boundless energy translates into a friendly personality, one of a person who will go out of their way to cheer someone up. Unfortunately, it also means that she is impatient and can be irritated fairly easily - and be manipulated when excited about something.

Lily is a hands-on learner. The chief engineer has a boundless curiosity, and seeks to learn from alien technology constantly. That said, she harbors a deep-seated resentment for the aliens for costing her both of her parents and for all they have done to others she cares about. She has no problem turning enemy tech against them.

Biography:

An-Yi’s life began in comfort. Comfort was never for her. Because of this, she was able to do better than most when the war rolled around. She was only seven at the time, and didn’t understand everything that was going on, but even at that early age she learned through experience. She began with simple programming and mechanical work to help her father. During this time she learned that the chief of science staff, Valda Vahlen, was her mother. Despite the best effort the Shens could provide, the might of the aliens proved overwhelming and the X-COM Project failed, and the reunion between Lily and her mother was cut short by Vahlen’s disappearance.

The two went into hiding under Atka’s command in Taloyoak after the fall. Raymond continued his daughter’s training, even if they had more limited equipment to practice on. The two nevertheless kept the equipment of the survivors running and ensured that they had some contact with the outside world. Lily befriended Atka’s young daughter in order to cheer her up, and began watching over her like a younger sister.

Then, the founding of ADVENT forced the group west. They were on the run, but efforts to aid the budding Resistance movement went on. It was during this time that the dynamic duo - the knowledgeable Elder Shen and the creative Younger Shen - came up with the Resistance Communications Network - the RCN. It utilized ADVENT’s own busy network to send messages lost in the clutter as well as a similarly confounding radio cluster. Most of the radio stations simply output music and white noise, but when ADVENT wasn’t listening the freedom fighters shared their ideas.

This accomplishment was tempered by the losses the survivors took before the aliens finally relented. It was after the Chamber sisters lost the last one who had sacrificed themselves as if another mother had passed that An-Yi grew close to the younger sister Jennifer, encouraging her and doing her best to help the little scientist past her grief.

As the survivors of X-COM headed south Lily began to learn how to fight to bolster the group’s diminished numbers. In particular - to make up for her lack of skill with a gun - she came to rely on her greatest personal accomplishment thus far. It wasn’t as grandiose as her father’s effort to build a new Skyranger from a scrapped dropship, but An-Yi managed to get an ADVENT drone the team had taken down online again - under her control. With the help of this’ROV-R’ she participated in the raid on the experimental alien cloakship to take it for XCOM.

When the dust settled the dynamic duo’s plan had paid off. The aliens believed the newly-dubbed Avenger to have been destroyed in a test run of its stealth system, leaving the Shens to make it their own. What put a damper on that success was twofold: Atka was badly wounded and asked Lily to take care of her daughter for her as if she wouldn’t be able to go on, and Lily’s father began to reach the end of his hardy life. By the time the Avenger’s main systems - save for the experimental cloak - were all online again, Raymond Shen had passed.

A distraught Lily took awhile to recover, and dealt with her loss in the best way she knew. She threw herself into her work, making prosthetic replacements for Atka’s missing limbs and working tirelessly to get the Avenger’s drones - the first complete models of the Gremlin design - operational for maintenance and combat duty.

When Tygan joined the team, she was skeptical. The former ADVENT scientist and his partner were tempted once and might be again. But she put her grudges with ADVENT and her distrust of them aside because she needed Tygan’s help. With his knowledge she was able to fill her scientific gaps and install onto the Skyranger plasma engine designs Tygan had given her. With his help and her ingenuity XCOM was finally ready to make its move and avenge her parents and Earth as a whole.

Special Abilities:
- Excellent hands-on learner.

Name: Giorgos Megalos
Role: Chief of XCOM Maintenance
Sex: Male
Age: 42
DoB: November 13th, 1995
PoB: Miami, Florida, USA
Race: Greek
Nationality: American
Height: 182 cm
Weight: 90 kg
Hair Color: Brown, Greying
Hair Style: Short, with beard
Eye Color: Brown
Immediate Family: Petros (Father), Marika (Mother, Deceased), Sandra (Ex-wife)
Place of Residence before Joining XCOM: Bel-Air, Los Angeles Ruins

Biography:
Born November 13th, 1995 to Petros and Marika Megalos, Giorgos led a quiet life. Throughout his education, he placed in the top third of his classes - exceptional, but not remarkably so. He eventually went on to study mechanical engineering at MIT in 2013, and returned with a Master’s degree and a fiance, one Sandra Veracruz, six years later - just in time to see the subjugation of Earth under the aliens. Despite this, Giorgos continued on with his life, gaining employment as a supervisor at an engineering firm which would later be contracted by the ADVENT administration to assist in the construction of the intra-Megacity high-speed railways.

Of course, in the turmoil that was post-war Earth, even the quietest of lives saw disruption. And in 2029, Giorgos was finally hit by the resulting tremors. Sandra, no longer satisfied with the meager life that Giorgos provided when there were much more lucrative prospects to attach herself to, divorced the Greco-American and ran off with a local politician who seemed set to climb her way to the top. This act devastated Giorgos, and left the man wandering through life in a semi-permanent haze - unwilling to accept that the woman he loved had abandoned him so readily. Within the year he had also lost his job, and slowly descended to a life of drinking, menial labor, and a slow slide from residence in the heart of Dahlsworth to San José, and from there, the ruins of LA.

From there, Giorgos was picked up by a local resistance as a mechanic, and from there was transferred around until he found himself amongst XCOM’s small cadre of maintenance crew. Though still listless, Giorgos tried to put all he could into his service, and eventually found himself as the Maintenance Chief for the Avenger.

Appearance:
Giorgos is a large, heavy-set man starting to show signs of his age and stress. Grey hairs are beginning to peek through his short brown hair and are assaulting his neckbeard with gusto. His brown eyes seem to lack the glint of life, even on the odd occasions he smiles. His olive skin is frequently covered in a small layer of grease and oil, a side effect of the labor he undertakes. Giorgos frequently wears one-piece denim work clothing, the sleeves rolled up to be out of the way of his gloves. When he isn’t on shift, the upper section tends to end up tied around his waist, revealing old and worn-out T-shirts and a handful of minor blemishes across his upper arms.

Personality:
Giorgos is a listless, nigh on ambitionless man - doing what he’s told because there is little else. All he wants is a quiet life, away from attention and discarded from memory. He works hard because he must, he eats because he has to, and he sleeps when there is nothing left to do. He is also fairly inattentive and forgetful, at least in regard to things he doesn’t see much importance in. However, not all of his traits are negative: he does have a sensible head on his shoulders, wears his heart on his sleeve, and tries to treat others as well as he can. Perhaps something may jolt the Greco-American out of his haze, but he does not bother searching for it.

Sex: Male
DoB: September 10th
PoB: Washington D.C., USA
Height: 6'
Weight: 178 lbs
Hair Style: Short and straight
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue

Skills:
Most, if not all, of Joseph's knowledge of the American Criminal Justice system was useless after the alien take over, though he has kept up to date with the ADVENT rules and laws, both on the surface and in reality. Joseph is excellent at uncovering information others would deem impossible to find, and has worked hard to do so for his allies. Ever vigilant, Joseph has an unbreakable work ethic and unwavering commitment to his job. Most of his efforts usually focus on scanning droves of information for possible threats to XCOM.

Appearance:
Moderately handsome but not in a way that makes him stand out, Joseph keeps himself clean cut and shaved. He cares for what few suits he has left, always making himself presentable. He is in decent shape for his age, but is clearly not made to fight.

Personality:
Joseph has an upbeat attitude and tries to project a positive attitude, but his eyes often betray a sad loneliness he can not escape from. He is outgoing, interacting with everyone he can, often acting as an information officer from within to gauge the morale level and general mood of the XCOM staff. One area he is always upbeat about is his daughters, and often talks at length about how great they are, even when they are in the same room.

Biography:
Born to a lower class family in the United States capital, the oldest son of three boys to a single parent mother, Joseph set out to make something of himself and move himself out of the poor status of his family. Luckily, Joseph had the intelligence to back up his ambitions. The only of his brothers to attend college, Joseph graduated with a BA from the University of D.C. in Criminal Justice, and had a free ride through the George Washington University Law School. He graduated with honors and passed the Bar Exam on the first try.

At 24, near the end of his second year in law school, Joseph hit it off with a young, intelligent but down on her luck waitress named Veronica Lockheart. Veronica had the brains to be something great, having a passion for sciences, but had fallen in with a bad crowd during her teenage years and missed her chance for college. Joseph met her sober, however, and came back to her diner every other day to ask her out. It took several weeks, but she eventually said yes. The date turn to love. The love turned to living together. Living together turned to babies in the baby carriage, first Alexis, than Jennifer.

27, young and only two years out of law school, Joseph was surprised to be contacted by the little known Council of Nations to act as their liaison for Project X-COM. It didn't take him long to realize they had picked him as someone who they could manipulate, meant more to spy on X-COM than make simple reports. He was not one to be manipulated, and his opinions of X-COM's performance were overall positive. He made a number of friends there, including Desmond Walker and Atka Ipitok.

After the fall of XCOM and the loss of his wife, Joseph decided the best course of action would be to support Atka in her endeavors to keep XCOM alive. This meant hardships for his daughters, but he preferred this over having them become blind subjects to their mother's killers. He became a close support for Atka, encouraging her in her new role as Commander. He would later become her lead source for information, short of the Overseer himself, and acts as both an Information Officer and, when the need arises, a recruiter. With XCOM poised to finally strike back after 20 years, this latter job has become a lot busier.

The ADVENT forces label him ‘Lord-Commander’. His little nephew knows him as ‘Uncle Fonz’. And back when the aliens conquered Earth, he was known as Captain Alfons Van Der Akker of the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade.

Little of note is known of Alfons Van Der Akker’s early life, save that he was born on January 4th, 1991 to Bernard and Veronica Van Der Akker, the elder of two children. Shortly after his eighteenth birthday, he enlisted in the United States Army, and after basic he was deployed to Afghanistan as a MP - where he saw the atrocities that humans performed upon each other in full force. The torture of POWs, the use of civilians as a means of attacking your enemies, and other such incidents burned their way into the former patriot’s mind - and when he returned from his tour to a ‘cushy desk job’ at Fort Meade, he did what once would have been unthinkable: he sold his nation’s secrets to the highest bidder. Some claim that the cyber-warfare that so heavily struck the US in the late-2000s to mid-2010s was enabled by the secrets he sold to foreign countries.

In another universe, Alfons would be caught, tried, and left to rot in prison for the rest of his life for the treason he committed. However, here he was much luckier. With the collapse of the old governments that the aliens brought, the Danish-American was able to quietly retire from the Army and eventually join ADVENT - taking the Elders’ messages of the inherent barbarism of humanity close to heart. From there he slowly began to move up the ranks, reaching Captain in 2029 - where luck once again showed itself to be on Alfons’ side, as a psi-screening revealed him to have great innate psychic talent. This was the push he needed to begin his rapid ascent up the ranks, and in 2034 he became Lord-Commander of all human ADVENT forces after the death of his predecessor.

And although Alfons was on the up-and-up, not all those in his life were so lucky. In 2035, a small resistance tried to do the impossible: kill the most protected man on Earth. They nearly succeeded in their attempt - only foiled by the fact that Alfons decided to use the restroom mere moments before the bomb was set to detonate. Instead, the resistance killed eight civilians, three ADVENT soldiers, and, most importantly to the Lord-Commander, Alfons’ sister as well as her husband. For this act, Alfons personally led the team that exterminated the responsible group as well as several other nearby groups that normally would not have been bothered with due to resource investments. Whilst he was on his personal crusade of vengeance, he also took in his sister’s son - his nephew, Benjamin MacKenny - knowing that the boy needed some sort of parenting, and who better than that man who was a pillar of devotion to the Elders?

And now in 2038, Alfons sits at the peak of humanity - in the center of the spider’s web, at the helm of all the proof the Elders need that humans can change. And he’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that that proof is acknowledged, even if he has to descend to that same barbarism that he has denounced so greatly. No more shall humanity be lost upon the Path, for Alfons shall provide the stick to the Elder’s carrot.

Appearance:
A tall, muscular man, Alfons strikes an intimidating image to those who seek to oppose ADVENT. His steely blue eyes have the tendency to look through people, rather than at them, and his blonde hair is cropped to military precision. His face is clean of hair, and his body is clear of any blemishes or scarring - a perk of his station - allowing his light skin to provide contrast with the dark blacks and reds of his dress uniform. He very rarely dresses casually, and the only modification he has allowed himself to make to the uniform is the peaked commissar’s cap that only comes out when dark business needs to be taken care of.

Personality:
For the greatest traitor known to man, Alfons remains upstanding, proud, and a shining beacon of devotion to the Path. He is slow to anger, keeps a close eye on the well-being of those below him, and knows that sometimes that well-being must be sacrificed for the good of humanity. The only flaw that he allows himself to admit to himself is his streak of cowardice - rationalizing it as not wanting to jeopardize ADVENT with his death. However, cognitive dissonance still strikes him as he struggles to rationalize his enjoyment at seeing the resistances crushed under his boot with his quest to deny humanity the barbarity it should have cast off centuries ago. Perhaps the only chink in his armor is his nephew, caring far too deeply for the heir to the Van Der Akker family and the last memory of his beloved sister than a man of his position should.

Special Abilities:
Psionics - Green (Biokinesis [Harm and Reprogramming Focus], Oxykinesis, Imbuing) Major, Yellow (Electrokinesis, Illusions) and Orange (Telekinesis, Rift) Minor

PoB: Washington D.C., USA
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 120 lbs
Hair Style: Straight, Shoulder Length
Hair Color: Green (Natural Brown)
Eye Color: Green

Skills:
Despite spending most of her life in a world under the aliens thumb and on the run, thus never receiving a formal education, Jennifer inherited her father's intelligence, and studied all she could throughout her life from whatever texts she could get her hands on, and gravitated towards the sciences. She is for more knowledgeable the woman he age would normally be, and specializes in biology, bioengineering, and genetics.

Appearance:
Jennifer take decent care of herself, though isn't as inclined towards the gym as her sistem, and lacks somewhat in terms of musculature. She has a young, pretty face, and a voluptuous body, something she got from her mother, and catches the eyes of others around her. She is fairly reserved about her body, however, and often dresses in clothes one size too big to try and not draw attention.

Personality:
Jennifer has a particularly positive personality, and is very friendly towards others. She tries to look for the good in every situation and bring it out into the spot light. Still, the harsh conditions she has had to live in her entire life has taken its toll on the young woman, and some believe she is only able to act so positive because of the inherit wild nature from her mother, and in fact she hides a significantly depressed side just below the surface.

Biography:
Jennifer was only two years old when she was brought to the base of operations for Project XCOM, and only two when the war was lost and her mother was presumed dead. It was hard for her to understand why she couldn't see her mother anymore, and living in constant retreat was quite trying.

As the years passed, she struck up a friendship with An-Yi Shen, who was only five years older then her. It was Shen, with her engineering genius and devotion to XCOM, that encouraged Jennifer to work had so she, too, could one day offer as much assistance to XCOM, though Jen turned towards Biology.

Jennifer, along with her sister, came to be quite close to Commander Atka's sister, Nouja, the kind and motherly woman looking after them much in the way their own mother had, filling in a hole in their hearts. It was for this reason that Jennifer was devastated when Nouja died, the then ten year old sinking deeply into depression. It was only through support from her friends and family, and the kind words of Nouja's sister, that she was able to carry on.

After the group was able to claim the Avenger, the fourteen year old girl saw the sacrifices the others made, including the sacrificed limbs of the Commander, and redoubled her efforts, getting on the job experience in the labs and studying any old text books that could be found religiously.

Now twenty-two, Jennifer is a welcome addition to the limited XCOM science department. The young woman's friendship to Lily has remained strong, though there is a bit of friendly rivalry between the pair. Jen often hits heads with her sister Alex because of the latter's brashness, but they always have each other's backs. She conflicts with Yakone, the Commander's daughter, for much the same reason, though it is harder for the non-siblings to sort this conflict out.

Trooper, Part-time Engineer
Rank: Squaddie
Age: 23
Sex: Female
DoB: May 3rd
PoB: Washington D.C., USA
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 143 lbs
Hair Style: Ponytail, to base of neck
Hair Color: Purple (Natural Brown)
Eye Color: Blue

Skills:
Inheriting her father's intelligence, but not as inclined towards the sciences as her sister, Alexis uses her intelligence for quick think and fast decisions on the battlefield. She is skilled in hand to hand combat, though lacks formal training. She is a skilled shot, having spent many an hour practicing on a shooting range, most of the being improvised. Finally, Alexis has shown potential in green psionics.

Appearance:
Alexis is in peak physical shape, taking care of herself and working out every day. While she has a short statue and can't exactly measure up to the physical prowess of her male counterparts, she can hold her own in a fight. Alexis has a young, pretty face and a voluptuous body, something she got from her mother, and catches the eyes of others around her. She is fairly unreserved about her body, and has been known to dress in clothes one size too small to try and draw attention.

Personality:
Alexis has a wild side to her, something from her mother, though more limited thanks to her living conditions. Still, when she isn't in training, she is the kind of woman who always wants to party and have a good time, however possible. She can often act childish, and sometimes reckless, but can bring the fun to those she associates with. Many of these efforts go towards her sister, Alexis knowing more than anyone else, even her father, how deeply rooted Jennifer's negative emotions are.

Biography:
Alexis was only three when her whole world was turned upside down. Her parents members of Project XCOM, in what seemed like an instant, the fall of XCOM meant the loss of her mother, her home, and in many ways, her future. Despite her young age, she was determined to stay strong, seeing the sadness in her younger sister, as well as her father, and determined to stay strong for them.

Alexis struck up a close friendship with Nouja, Commander Atka's younger sister, and would often talk for hours with the woman. Over time, this friendship turned to an almost mother-daughter relationship. Nouja was killed saving the rest of the XCOM resistance when Alexis was eleven, and once again Alexis lost someone she wanted to grieve over, but felt she couldn't. Her sister Jennifer, Commander Atka, and Nouja's seven year old niece, were grieving so much, she again felt she had to be strong for the others.

Simply acting strong proved not to be enough, however. When Alexis was fifteen, two skilled members died and the Commander was seriously maimed claiming what would become their mobile base. Alexis had already started to learn how to fight and shot, and she redoubled her efforts, becoming a soldier as soon as Atka deemed her ready.

Alexis has grown into something of a wild woman, somewhat reckless, often childish, always on the move. She has grown close to Yakone, Atka's daughter, and the two share secrets, Yakone being one of the few that know how much Alexis struggles eternally with pent up frustration, as well as how much she hides her desire to watch Jennifer's back, as the young scientist hides deep depression. Alexis is not so keen on Jen's friend, Lily Shen, mostly because she doesn't trust the overtly warm personality Lily exerts, usually for no good reason.

Sex: Male
DoB: November 13th
PoB: Chicago, Illinois, USA
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 220lbs
Hair Style: Buzzed
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Hazel

Skills:
Jack is well versed in all things electronic, especially pre-war electronics. He is especially skilled with weaponry, having experience in building and maintaining all means of firearms and even some blacksmithing. Aside from this, Jack can obviously hold his own in a fight.

Appearance:
With the dark skin of one of African decent, Jack has a hardened expression, and rarely smiles. He has seen some difficult times, and one can see it on his face. His handsome yet brutish looks hide his inquisitive eyes. Almost obsessed with working out, Jack is a powerhouse, 220 lbs of pure muscle.

Personality:
With a few exceptions, Jack doesn't interact with comrades beyond a professional means, though this is less because he is antisocial and more because he fears growing attached to people who could die at anytime.

Otherwise, Jack an intelligent and analytical man, excellent at reading people and situations. His personality stands out in the light of his outward appearance. Those that can call him their friend do so with pride, as he is the kind of man that puts the needs of loved ones above his own.

When not working or working out, Jack can be found reading what few pieces of pre-war literature XCOM had come to possess.

Biography:
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Jack has his entire childhood before the shift of control of Terra from human to alien. In 2025, a 22 year old Jack had to cope with the confusion of why his world was now listening to these 'Elders', and why his home was being changed from the human city of Chicago to a Megacity. Jack's mother was a US Marine lost in the initial fight with the aliens, leading Jack's father to resist the alien propaganda and refuse to move to the Megacity, instead living in the outskirts.

As Jack grew up, he started to show an inquisitive, investigative side, which his father said came came from him, a former CPD detective. In the new world, Jack would often be sent out to gather information for his father, who supplied the information to resistance members. When Jack was twenty-four, his father was found out by ADVENT investigators, and silently disappeared, leaving Jack alone.

Still, Jack did not give up, and was more motivated than ever to fight back against these aliens. He would help them in any way possible, quite skilled with his hands, and focused on illegal weapons manufacturing after moving out of the outskirts to the revolution strong outer cities, though oddly never actually joined a resistance. He was married by the age of 25, but his wife did not support his illegal activities, refusing to leave the Outskirts, and she left him two years later.

When Jack was thirty, his actions against ADVENT finally caught up with him, and he was arrested. He had covered most of his tracks, however, so the full extent of his crimes were unknown, and being a powerhouse motivated ADVENT authorities to use him for labor. By this time, the ADVENT Rail Network had been completed, but it still needed people to maintain it and help with the construction of systems to new Megacities. Jack was here for four years before the new emergence of XCOM began. Around this time, an attack by a mid sized North American resistance group liberated the prisoners in Jack's work camp, and XCOM recruited him, recommended by Information Officer Joseph Chambers, who knew his father years ago and needed someone who was skilled with making weapons using unconventional means.

Name: Morrigan O'Brien

Role: Specialist
Rank: Squaddie
Age: 26
Sex: Female
DoB: March 1st
PoB: Tipperary, Tipperary County, Ireland
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 114 lbs
Hair Style: Short, slightly spiked, or straight
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Green

Skills:
Morrigan is particularly skilled with smaller firearms like pistols and carbines, but can use larger weapons in a pinch. She is fairly tech savvy, and is a perfect choice to be a specialist. Morrigan is trained in the same hand to hand combat style as ADVENT.

Appearance:
Morrigan is on the small side, 5'4" with a BWH of 32B-25-32. She has fiery red hair that matches the fire in her eyes. Her body is clearly made more for speed than strength, and she keeps herself in great shape. Her face is attractive while not being model level of beauty.

She had a number of faded scars of various sizes across her back, as well as a few on the back of her arms and legs.

Personality:
Morrigan has fiery, spunky attitude, always eager to act, sometimes to a fault. She has clear anger issues, ones she keeps barely below the surface. This is useful on the battlefield, but not so much off of it.

Morrigan's main passion in life is her twelve year old daughter, Brigid Hunnigan. As long as XCOM keeps Brigid safe, Morrigan will fight for them, and die for them, for the sake of keeping her daughter safe. That said, she can be quite defensive when it comes to Brigid.

Biography:
Born on the island nation of Ireland, Morrigan was six when the alien invasion of Earth began. While not falling in line with the views of the Elders and the ideas that humanity needed the aliens to save them from themselves, Morrigan's parents did not wish for their own doubts to effect their daughters life, and taught her to listen to the aliens. Still, Morrigan was old enough to remember the change from human to alien rule, being eleven when ADVENT was first founded, and grew up with doubt. This would cause her to conflict with her parents, which led to the development of anger issues.

In 2024, when Morrigan was twelve ADVENT began efforts to evacuate all island nations to concentrate their control of humanity on the mainlands, starting with Japan. Abhorring the idea of leaving her home for an ADVENT run Megacity in Antarctica, Morrigan's acts of parental defiance reached its peak when, on New year's day, at the stroke of midnight, an extremely intoxicated Morrigan had a sexual encounter with a much older man she had only known for a few weeks.

She confessed to her parents six months later, when she first started to show. Charges were brought against the man, whom she believe was sent to prison and avoided her for the rest of her life. Morrigan was sent away from her parents, sparring her from being an outcast in Antarctica by working a deal to have her sent to a top notch ADVENT-run military school in North America. Morrigan’s parents were arrested during this time, and she was always suspicious of why such loyal citizens would suffer a fate like that.

During her time in the military school, the strict life, as well as the desire to give her daughter, Brigid, a good life motivated her to shape up and finally fall in line. She would later fall in love with a fellow student, Daniel Hunnigan. When they graduated, they both applied to join ADVENT. However, during basic training, Morrigan dropped out to concentrate on caring for Brigid, whose health took a turn for the worse. Daniel would later officially adopt Brigid as his daughter, and Morrigan insisted on giving the child his last name, partially to motivate Daniel to marry her.

This never came to be, as Daniel was always busy with ADVENT. A completely loyal man, Daniel never spoke of his work at home, the affairs of ADVENT not to be disclosed to outsiders. He did share one thing with Morrigan, however, and that was his training. Morrigan was never sure why this, of all things, was what he had the most passion about when it came to spending time with her, at least until Morrigan's twenty-fourth birthday.

With Brigid healthy enough to be left with a sitter, Daniel pulled some strings to arrange for Morrigan to join ADVENT. As fate would have it, a mere week before, an Ireland based resistance group teamed up with several other Europe based resistances for a single purpose; to send a message. She wouldn't have given it a second thought had they not listed several people that had been used as scapegoats by ADVENT; her parents were on the list.

She hesitated to accept Daniel's proposal, and claimed this message was her reason. He assured her it was a ridiculous claim, one that just proved how cowardly the resistances were, not laying claim to their own actions, but doubt remained in Morrigan, so he promised her, before she made any rash decisions, he would look into it for her. It is ironic that, three days later, when Morrigan decided she was going to tell Daniel, as soon as he got home, that she realized how silly she was being, and was going to join ADVENT, that ADVENT burst into her home and violently arrested her.

She was told Daniel was suspected as a possible spy, looking into the case Morrigan had requested being the final straw. They demanded Morrigan provide the names of anyone he, or she, had conspired with, but Morrigan had no names to give. Questioning soon turned to interrogation, and interrogation turned to torture. They ultimately learned that she knew nothing, and instead kept her for experimentation.

She was saved when an American based resistance group broke into the holding area she was being kept in order to rescue their allies. It would take another ten weeks for Morrigan to recover from what she was put through. At first, she couldn't even remember who she was. She would actually remember her daughter first, and that pushed her to recover faster. A year later, after completing a scouting mission she insisted on taking, she returned to her group's hidden base a day late. She had put her team at risk by finding out where the orphanage that had her daughter was, than breaking in it to reclaim her child.

This act destroyed her group's confidence in her, and she spent the next year relegated to duties including cleaning, cooking, and assisting with the injured, anything that kept her off the field and away from a computer. They did not want to risk her doing something foolish again like trying to see if her husband was still alive. It didn't help that her daughter was brought up to trust in the Elders, and had to be completely retought everything she knew. It was during this time that she was recruited to XCOM, who had great need of someone with her skills, and were more willing to take a risk on her. One who had seen the true evils of ADVENT and survived would do well with XCOM.

Brigid Hunnigan

Role: Civilian Supply Runner
Rank: N/A
Age: 12
Sex: Female
DoB: Oct. 1st
PoB: Chicago Megacity
Height: 5' 1"
Weight: 75 lbs
Hair Style: Straight, to small of back, usually done up in dual ponytails
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Green

Skills:
Brigid is a fairly intelligent and intuitive child, but a child none the less, and too young to grasp many of the adult level skills. She is a quick runner, however, just like her mother, and is good at moving objects about the ship between departments. During her down time, she is a speed reader, and is an exceptional artist for someone her age. She started learning to play the violin when she was only three, and often entertains the other XCOM members with songs.

Appearance:
Brigid is an adorable young girl with a delightful smile that warms the heart. She has long, silky blonde hair and big, expressive green eyes. Never being in the best of health, Brigid has a fragile frame, her skin fairly pale, and isn't very strong, being underweight. Now away from the various medical marvels of the Megacities, Brigid's health is subject to wild and seemingly random changes, having the girl running to and fro like a normal young girl one day, than suddenly bed ridden for days.

Personality:
Brigid is incredibly selfless for one her age, Morrigan raising her to have extremely high morals and have a clear understanding of the difference between right and wrong. Her mother has to keep an extremely close eye on Brigid, and seems over protective at times, but in reality, Brigid has a bad habit of not telling others when she is under the weather out of fear of worrying or bothering others, and has fallen deathly ill because of this on more than one occasion.

It is because of her high morals that Brigid is a confused little girl. She was brought up in a Megacity under the rule of ADVENT, and the sudden shift from them being the law to them being the bad guys was a shock to her. That being the case, she trusts her mother's judgement, and knows a little of her mother's suffering by ADVENT, even if the truth depths of their tortures have been kept from her.

Sex: Female
Age: 19
DoB: January 4th, 2019
PoB: Taloyoak, Nunavut
Race: Inuit-Caucasian
Nationality: Canadian
Height: 6'0
Weight: 155 lbs
Hair Color: Jet Black
Hair Style : Spiky, Frazzled, and Short
Eye Color: Midnight Green
Immediate Family: Atka Ipiktok (Mother, 42), Desmond Walker (Father, Whereabouts Unknown), Nouja (Aunt, KIA)
Place of Residence before joining XCOM: N/A

Appearance:

Yakone has a shapely athletic figure honed by consistent physical condition and a desire to be the best she can be in the tactile sense. She keeps her hair messy and frazzled, but short enough that it won't get in her eyes or otherwise inhibit her movement. Said eyes seem somewhat piercing when directed at someone else, as if she is sizing her target up and judging their moral merit.

Off the battlefield, Yakone wears a faded dark-blue Yankees ballcap on occasion (bill facing whatever direction suits her at the time) but it is not always standard like the rest of her attire. The pieces that are standard include: a navy blue plaid jacket, a white shirt showing midriff that has a Canadian flag symbolized like street graffiti on the front, rugged black jeans, and dark gray army boots. The jacket is usually kept open to show off the shirt.

On the battlefield, Yakone wears the standard style of XCOM armor: sleek but durable, and has a customized model of helmet. It has a blue-green visor that can be lifted up into the confines of its upper round shell, and the plate under the mouth is removable for situations where she needs to take in more air. On either side of the middle of the helmet are small, single-use floodlight flashlights.

Personality:

Yakone is a fiery, recalcitrant young woman. Quick to start a fight or crack a joke - one which is not always taken well - she tends to have trouble getting along with others, particularly authority figures. This makes her a strong opponent of ADVENT, but it also makes her hard to manage.

The young freedom fighter is, however, someone who is intensely loyal to the friends she manages to make. She will protect them with everything she has, and does her best tk cheer up companions when they are down even if it means making a fool of herself. This, combined with her sense of justice - one that could almost be called zealous - makes her an excellent ally.

She is a fan of sports and martial arts, utilizing an amalgamate of skills learned largely secondhand (which include karate, taekwondo, boxing, and basketball) to create a unique style of fighting that shines best in close quarters. What she lacks is discipline, however, and is quick to anger and easy to manipulate due to her often blind convictions.

Biography:

By the time Yakone was born, the war was already over. The Ethereal Protectorate had occupied Earth, and the survivors of X-COM led by her mother were in hiding in Taloyoak. Yakone’s memories of her time in the small Inuit town are fuzzy, as she was only around five years old when the group was forced to move. This was when the ADVENT Coalition was founded, and the aliens could allow the world government to handle domestic affairs while they investigated rumors of survivors spurring resistance efforts on in the north.

Thus Yakone’s first distinct memories are of the Yukon Territory. She was moved around often, meeting sympathetic and kind people that helped shape her positive outlook on human nature. The Caucasian-Inuit girl was happy then, for the most part. What she lacked was the affection of her mother who seemingly had no time for her. In place of parents, Yakone latched onto Lily Shen as a surrogate older sister, and developed a bond with Alexis Chambers. Additionally, it was around this time she discovered her first psionic ability, Override.

That said, it was not as if Yakone didn’t have a mother figure. While her mother paid her little heed, Atka’s sister Nouja took care of Yakone. She helped reign in the girl’s rambunctious nature and taught her how to treat people with kindness and forgive them for their mistakes - including her mother. Despite being on the run and scared of being hunted, Yakone felt content. She was saddened by losses the team took, but it was never anyone terribly close to her.

That was, until 2028. The year Nouja gave her life to make the trail go cold. Nouja’s sacrifice allowed the team to finally head south out of the frozen north, and spared them a similar fate, but Yakone couldn’t see it. Despair quickly yielded to a simmering fury for the unjust loss of life. Yakone’s desire to mete out justice grew, and as the group travelled she demanded to learn boxing and combat techniques from Kevin Nash alongside Alexis. Yakone would also learn from any material she could scavenge.

Two years passed, and the prospect of taking over an alien craft as a mobile base became reality. Yakone was too young to go. Disappointment turned to horror when she finally boarded the commandeered ship to find her mother not entirely in one piece. She tried to reassure Atka, to brighten her days, but at the time the Commander was laid too low to care. This final rebuff shattered any outward aspirations Yakone had to mend their relationship.

Yakone grew resentful, but forced herself to stop caring about her mother. She trained, physically and mentally, to be ready to join the fight. She blended mixed martial arts with biokinesis and later imbuing to develop a unique psionic style that rendered her more durable and gave her extra endurance. By the time she was nearing her eighteenth birthday she was more than ready to join the fight, and participated on the rescue operation that gave XCOM their scientific and medical chiefs.

In contrast to her older sister, Yakone didn’t worry about Tygan’s loyaties. He revived a desire to learn about science that she hadn’t thought about since being jealous of Jennifer in the Yukon. She continued her physical conditioning of course, but took up plenty of the doctor’s time learning all she could to be useful. Now that the time to truly begin the fight is upon her, she is ready to become even more useful to the cause of the Resistance and break ADVENT’s tyrannical grip on the world.

Special Abilities:

Green Major (Override, Biokinesis, Imbuing)

PoB: Small town outside of Vancouver
Race: Caucasian
Nationality: Canadian
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 156 lbs
Hair Color: Blonde
Hair Style: Long, down to neck
Eye Color: Dark Green
Immediate Family: Gwendoline De Saint Pierre (Adoptive Sister), June Sinclair (64, Grandfather)
Place of Residence before joining XCOM: N/A

Appearance:
Leon from a young age has always been boyish in his look, and his sporty interests always matched well with that look. He has longish blonde hair and piercing dark green eyes, his face always having no blemishes or hair to speak of. He is on the lean side but keeps up a muscular undertone that makes him stronger then he looks. Leon prefers to wear a dark green coat with a tan hood when not wearing anything particular, just wearing any old shirt under it, as he keeps the coat zipped up. He wears a pair of tan cargo pants that match the color of his hood, and Leon usually rounds off his look with a pair of tan boots. He has three leather cord bracelets on his right wrist, ones that are each decorated with a different color bead.

Personality:

Leon is very much a leader when it comes to be around people. His natural charisma and willingness to help others as well as his optimism has made him numerous friends, and they are an asset he proudly uses. He can keep upbeat, but is prone to moments of extreme depression and sadness since he does not do well to challenge these emotions, and instead keeps them locked in. In battle, he is not afraid to take command and give out orders, keeping a level head and keeping his team under control and in good spirits.

Biography:

Leon was born in a small town just outside the city of Vancouver, Canada to Sharon Sinclair and Lou Sinclair on August 13th, 2015. Their town was quaint, everyone knowing someone and just down the road from his house was his grandparents June Sinclair, and Diana Sinclair. For the first three years of his life, Leon was loved extensively like any normal kid, but his grandparents were especially affectionate towards the young Leon, as he was their only grandchild. However in the year 2018, when the aliens invaded, Leon’s town was largely affected being in such close proximity to the major Canadian city. Much of the town was destroyed and many people were taken, including Leon’s parents. In order to protect the young boy, his grandparents took him and fled to the west.

For a time, things were hard. The grandparents did not settle in one spot for too long, afraid for their lives and the life of the small Leon. What helped them get by was the fact that June, Leon’s grandfather, was an ex-soldier and forest ranger, and he used the skills he had to help provide for his family. When Leon was five, he held and fired his first bow and arrow, and then when he was eight, his first gun. June brought the teen under his wing and taught him every skill he could to help the boy survive, and the relationship between the boy and his grandfather was closely bonded.

However, when Leon was ten, things took a turn for the worst when his grandmother was killed by Advent forces who were pacifying a resistance cell in a town. It was this incident that began Leon’s hate for the global power, and aliens as a majority whole. The death of his grandmother was a wound that festered for many years as he and June began mobile resistance fighters, moving along the Canadian countryside lending support to any Shantytowns they could, and became very good at eluding Advent forces. When Leon was fourteen, and his grandfather had gone to a meeting near the ruins of the town Leon had been born in leaving the teen alone. It was a fate, not to mention chance, meeting but Leon had found the homeless and orphaned Gwendoline De Saint Pierre, a native French girl who had moved to Canada with her family after the war with the aliens.

Leon took pity upon the girl, especially because at first she could not speak any english, only french, and the bilingual Leon spoke to her and took her back to his grandfather, who he accepted with open arms and began teaching her as well, starting the long history between the three. In the year 2037, Leon, Gwen, and June all took part in a large scale resistance near the city of Vancouver, an operation in which a Outskirt Town tried rising up and attacked strategic positions outside and around the city. At first, the operations were successful, up until the point that Advent actually sent a counter attack, decimating resistance forces. Narrowly escaping with their lives in the back of a pick up fleeing the scene, Leon decided that it was high time to leave Canada, head south and start again. However, when they reached the border, his grandfather expressed his want to stay in his home country and continue fighting for his country and with a very sad goodbye, Gwen and Leon left June as he went back.

For the next year, the two moved around America helping where they could, almost getting caught in Salt Lake City but with a bit of luck and cunning, they avoided capture. In 2038, Leon managed to get the information from multiple friends across the country that there was a large resistance headquarters in the south near La Paz, and without hesitation, Leon took his adoptive sister to the south towards Mexico with the hope of being apart of something other than a small time loan of services.

Age: 22
DoB: June 5th, 2016
PoB: Carcassonne, France
Race: Caucasian
Nationality: French/German
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 131 lbs
Hair Color: Blonde
Hair Style: Long, straight, down to waistline
Eye Color: Blue
Immediate Family: Leon Sinclair (Adoptive Brother), June Sinclair (Adoptive Grandfather)
Place of Residence before joining XCOM: Quebec, Canada

Appearance:
Gwen has a very soft and pristine look about her, one that comes from natural beauty, and even more so when defined with makeup. Her blonde hair has been grown quite long as it falls to nearly her waist, and her hair is something she is proud of. She has soft light blue eyes and a narrow face, as well as tall with a small waist. Although some would call her looking like a princess, she dresses somewhat modestly, wearing a shoulderless, white cotton blouse as well as a white undershirt to cover up her black training bra that conceals a chest on the smaller side. To compliment that, she has tight black yoga pants for mobility and comfort when off duty, and black dress boots that go up half her shin.

Personality:
The personality of Gwen is one hard to peg down, as one minute you can be her best friend and the next her worst enemy. She keeps a calm disposition most of the time but that is merely to hide her more fiery side underneath that she keeps for both women she finds as competition as well as men who try and hit on her. She had a tendency to be more French when in a good mood, and more German when angry, likely stemming from her parents. The only person her emotions seem consistent for are for her adoptive brother who she seems to cling to almost desperately and is extremely protective of. Some have gotten the wrong idea that her ideas of Leon are intimate, but she strongly disagrees with that and usually gets offended at the notion.

Biography:
Born in the wealthy city of Carcassonne, France to Gisèle and Théodore De Saint Pierre, little Gwendoline was a miracle to the aging couple, as the stillbirth of two other children before her and the murder of her older sister before she was born took a toll on them, and for at least a small period of time the girl was a gift for the German born mother and the French born father. What made the De Saint Pierre family wealthy was the fact Gwen’s mother was a prominent business woman in the French housing market, and her father was a politician in the French government.

As a small child it seemed the excitement of having a child again had dwindled in the parents. While Gwen’s mother loved her no end, she was barely home for her child, and while her father was home more, he actually began resenting the child, claiming the reason why was because she was ‘too much like her sister’ to him. This left little Gwen in a difficult spot to find a role model, and that model came in the form of her nanny Regina Mills. Regina adored the child as her own, teaching her as a toddler, being with the child almost constantly, and this formed a tight bond between her and the nanny. As for the war, Gwen was largely sheltered from it. Her family was wealthy, so they retreated to a summer home out in the secluded countryside where they lived in relative peace.

However, being a prominent family, it was not long after the war that the family was found out and for mysterious reasons returned to city life, now located in Paris. When Gwen was five, her father started having mysterious phone calls made to him in which he would be extremely angry for seemingly no reason, and to the young girl, it scared her very much. When she asked her nanny what was wrong, she was told it was only adult stuff and that she shouldn’t worry. It was after a year of this going on that it culminated in a way that affected Gwen directly, as her mother was suddenly, and tragically killed in a car crash. After this, her father took her and Regina away from France silently, moving to Canada. Here, her father seemed only to be getting worse and worse, now taking drinking to get over his dark depression. When he had mood swings, there was a good chance that both her and Regina were the main targets of his anger, sometimes physically.

Having enough of the man, and for the safety of Gwen, Regina did something drastic and went to the local Advent Peacekeepers, and she informed them of Gwen’s father location. The reason was that back in France, he was being pressured by the aliens to conform to their wishes, but he refused and resisted. Because of that, they had caused the accident that killed Gwen’s mother to intimidate him but instead he fled and became a fugitive. Before the Peacekeepers came to take away Gwen’s father, Regina took Gwen and fled the city of Vancouver where they were residing but somewhere along the way, they were found as well and to keep them silent, they were told to be executed. The nanny was killed first, and the desperate Gwen appeared to be next until a stroke of luck and the intervention of fate happened, and Gwen was saved by a resistance member. This member was Leon Sinclair.

After Sinclair had saved her, and with no one to go back to, Gwen stuck close to him, scared for her life where she was accepted by both the boy and his grandfather June Sinclair. The two taught Gwen how to fight and defend herself, Leon teaching her english as the girl was only fluent in french and german, and most of all they were a loving family. After the failed uprising in 2037, Gwen had a heartfelt goodbye to her adoptive grandfather and with Leon watching over her, the two traveled America together as a ragtag group helping where they could, Leon being the strong and charismatic leader while Gwen took a backseat and acted as Leon’s conscious and his moral support, something Leon desperately needed during the more darker times of their adventures together. In 2038, the two were going to La Paz, Mexico, both Gwen and Leon wanting to join the large resistance movement that was said to be there, both wanting to make a difference, with the secret reason of not wanting to be caught alone.

Name: Artyom ‘Rasputin’ Reznov
Title/Role: Intelligence Division Hacker
Age: 28
DoB: February 2nd, 2010
Sex: Male
Place of Birth: Volgograd, Russia
Nationality: Russian
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 173 lbs
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Hair Style: Long hair tied back
Eye Color: Unknown
Immediate Family: None

Appearance:
Artyom keeps a rough appearance that shows he is accustomed to not keeping himself properly cleaned up. His hair is knotted that gives it an almost curly appearance, and his beard is only occasionally trimmed just to keep it short. He has a silver nose ring and a pointed lower lip piercing and black diamond stud earrings.

For attire, Artyom keeps it simple by wearing a cloth jacket he had made himself that was made to keep him warm. For pants, he wears an old pair of jeans that looked like they had endured years of being worn continually. Occasionally he will wear a slightly torn beanie on his head merely to keep his hair down but his most eye catching feature is the implant over his face. The implant is made from alien alloys and has eight red receptors on it that resemble that of an arachnid.

Personality:
Artyom is a broken man in many respects but he hasn’t exactly been made useless as a human being. To say he is a workaholic is an understatement in most cases, getting so tunnel-visioned while working that he is sometimes impossible to get out of it. However, once his work is done, Artyom’s engines cool and he mellows down to the point of almost being a meek man. He is not one to socialize while, and his awkwardness in conversing with others sometimes earns him the ire of some, yet he will never retaliate as Artyom holds a strong personal pacifist belief. Despite how he may appear, he does keep himself clean, but that is only because people complain he may smell after a while, only adding to his social hiccups. However, get passed the barriers and you will not find yourself a kinder or loyal man.

Biography:

Artyom Krevchenko Reznov was born in Volgograd, Russia in the year 2010, the Russian boy growing up in a lower middle class family with no siblings but his two parents, Anya and Gregory. While his father was a factory worker, his mother stayed at home with him, raising him to be a nice and kind young man who used his smarts and noble nature to get by in the world. For a while, it worked. Artyom was loved in school by classmates and teachers, and he bloomed as a young man.

When the war was plunged on to his world, it was something new to the young man. He never understood why his family ran and hid, and why the cities of his countries were attacked and people were killed. The idea of killing another human being was so foreign to him that Artyom was lost in a worn-torn time. His mother and father comforted him during the hard times, and after the war ended, Artyom was excited. He expected to go back to a care free and nice life but he couldn’t be farther from the truth. One day his father went missing and he and his mother were left stranded as refugees. Matters became worse when in 2023, his family was forced out of Russia and to the European Union.

Two years later, while he was 15, his mother was taken from him by the now established Advent because she was considered to be an enemy of the state, the reason never given to Artyom after he was orphaned. Now a teenager, Artyom began working at a gene-clinic technician to scrape by in life, and he found autonomy, and thought he was happy, even found a short term girlfriend. Though bad luck struck again when the Advent forces came for him, he was wildly confused. He was taken to a mysterious black site, and there, Artyom experienced horrors he never before imagined. He was tortured, had inhumane experiments done to him, and became broken both mentally and emotionally.

Amazingly still alive, he was shipped to North America for to him, and unknown reason, but soon found out, given an experimental implant on the exterior of his face, an implant that was infused to the exterior of his face that gave him extraordinary ocular abilities. He could process information at amazing speeds, helping him in tandem with his enhanced brain power to make him near a human computer, his broken mind easily being molded. However, the since the implant was fused to his face, it would never be able to be taken off, and what little cognitive freedom he had was in self-loathing that he didn’t consider himself human much.

In the year 2036, after the black site was raided by XCOM resistance forces, Artyom was taken by them after the leader of the squad wanted to bring him back to the Avenger. Moved from one prison to the next, the Russian man kept silent through interrogation after interrogation, though when he was visited by a ‘Lily’ Shen to take a look at his implant, he opened up very slowly, telling her his story little piece by little piece. After a small while, enough was given that he wasn’t seen as much of a threat, and was even put to work as a hacker in the information division of XCOM under the codename of ‘Rasputin’. Once again, he found autonomy, though not nearly as much happiness in his life, going day to day to survive, not to live. He was shunned by many for his very strange nature, but his little friendship with the Shen girl gave him some comfort that he was still human, and a few kind words from his superiors help more than most know all the time.

Sex: Male
Place of Birth: Moscow, Russia
Nationality: Russian
Height: 6"5'
Weight: 224 lbs
Hair Color: Dark brown
Hair Style : Shaved
Hair Length: Extremely short.
Eye Color: Dark Green
Immediate Family: Maren Tvarnov, Mother (In Alien custody), Valen Tvarnov, Father (In Alien custody.)
Place of Residence before XCOM: Near the border of Kazakhstan

Appearance: Marx is a very lean, bulky man with shaved hair and a massive scar that runs from his lower jaw up to just above his left eye. His face is composed of wolf like features with a strong jaw and eyebrows that slant down, giving him a naturally aggressive visage. Marx takes pride in hard work, you can see this from the calloused hands and powerful arms he gained from farming the fields of his family's old home. His face is covered in smaller scars that color a history of working and struggling just to survive.

Personality: Marx is a fierce and extremely loyal to his friends and family, however, this can lead to situations where his desire to protect family members can cloud his better judgement, which can put him into many bad situations. Coming from a rural life without much exposure to the outside world has led Marx to act close-minded towards people who share different values and beliefs than himself, mainly towards sexual preference. However, he will tend to keep his opinions to himself, usually only revealing them when someone tries to shove said beliefs down his throat or try and force him to accept them. Marx also has an extreme distaste for the aliens and takes the war to stop them and reclaim the world very seriously, sometimes working himself to exhaustion and refusing to sleep, likely in part due to his inability to feel pain, which tends to cause him to push his body farther than it can physically go. Another reason being the fact that back on his farm, he and his parents had to work constantly to keep themselves fed, having very little time for recreation in general.

Biography: From birth, Marx has had Congenital Insensitivity to Pain, or CIP, the inability to perceive painful stimuli. However, since he is an only child, his parents could focus all of their energy on raising him like a normal boy, despite his condition. The alien regime forced his family to live in poverty for most of his life, living in the suburban area around Moscow. They had heard terrible things from the few people who managed to smuggle themselves out of the cities, the lack of freedoms, the mysterious disappearances, and much more, so they decided to stay where they were instead of risking the city. However as Marx grew, he needed more and more to eat and was becoming noticeably thin, so his parents contacted some family friends to help sneak them out of the suburbs. After escaping to an abandoned town near the border of Kazakhstan, the family started a farm and became as self sufficient as possible, all of them working day and night to grow and protect their crops from the elements.

Year passed, and some of the families that had helped them sneak out of the suburbs, also wanted to stake out a new life in the abandoned town. They set up their own farm and soon, after more time passed, even more families started to show up. Despite this, Marx didn't make many friends, he focused almost all his time to keeping his family afloat and developed an impressive set of muscles from the intense, daily labor. His parents were proud of their son and the community that they had grown from nothing, even though it was made up of only five families... Little did they know, this would be their undoing...

On a peaceful and calm day, one of the farmers that lived near the outskirts of the ruined town ran to them in a panic, apparently Advent had seen his small farm from the sky and landed, setting it ablaze and rounding up the rest of his family onto ships, from which he barely escaped. Marx's father punched the man to the ground, seething with rage that he had led them towards the rest of the farms as Marx's mother acted fast to send him away, pointing him in the direction of a rumored rebel cell. Marx was conflicted, however, he couldn't bear to leave his family behind, but was pushed out the backdoor by his father, who told him he'd be less likely to be spotted if he traveled alone, locking the door behind him. Marx swallowed his pride and left, the last thing he saw was his farm burning, his family's pride up in smoke, and his parents being led into ships to be relocated, more than likely back to Moscow. It took days of walking, but eventually Marx found the secret rebel checkpoint and collapsed at the door. It would take some time before he could prove to them he was able to fight back against the aliens, but after weeks of training, they informed him that the legendary group that had helped found the resistance was getting back together and was looking for new recruits. When he heard the news, he didn't hesitate to take the chance, leaving behind his new comrades, to fight for his world, and hopefully, to rescue his family.

Sex: Female
Place of Birth: Fortuna Hospital, London
Nationality: British
Height: 5"8'
Weight: 142 lbs
Hair Color: Dark brown
Hair Style : Twin Pigtails
Hair Length: Long, Pigtails reach to the bottom of neck.
Eye Color: Brown
Immediate Family: Vignette Ammer, Adopted Mother. Jonas Ammer, Adopted Father.
Place of Residence before XCOM: Alien Megacity: Berlin, Germany.

Appearance: Catherine is a sprightly girl with a very thin frame. She often wears strange and bright colors to show off her love of her individuality, despite the alien’s regime. She has a moderately large bust, like that of her biological sisters and as is the case with identical twins, looks much like them.

Personality: Catherine is a surprisingly happy girl, bursting with energy and excitement, despite the alien’s restrictive regime. This often gets her into trouble with more somber people who’ve accepted their situation in this new world or people who take the fight against the aliens particularly seriously. However, what most people take as great naivety, is actually Cathy’s personal way to deal with the sadness around her, and helps her push forwards despite the hardship of the world as it is. Her reasons for joining the project come from her love of expressing herself in new and different ways, along with her dream of one day becoming a famous chef and owning her own restaurant, which the overlords disallow. Catherine often sits doey eyed, dreaming about one day reclaiming the freedoms that her parents had told her stories about, the freedom to do anything and be anyone, whether it be a janitor, governor, or, of course, a chef.

Biography: Cathy was born at the Fortuna Hospital in London at the same time as her other three identical twin sisters, however, during the painful labor, her biological mother died in childbirth. Her father was now left with four twins to take care of, one of whom was born blind and mute and required quite a lot of extra attention.

Eventually, this became too much for the mourning man, so he dropped the children off at a lonely orphanage in eastern London. Her and her sisters time there was sad and dreary, treated terrible by the headmistress of building, who filled their heads with Advent propaganda. To combat this treatment and general boredom, Sarah and her sisters continued the bullying of their disabled sister Ammellia, which had started back in their old home. They hated how Ammelia took up almost all of their father’s time, leaving them almost never being able to interact with him, this spite grew even more after their father had abandoned them. As Sarah grew older she stopped hating Ammy and stopped condoning tormenting her sister, but she was scared that Mary and Sarah would turn on her if she tried to stand up, so she instead played the cruel follower, a decision which has weighed on her greatly ever since she left that place. Being adopted shortly after her sister Sarah, Catherine was picked up by a kind German family who were staying in London for a time, after a few months, the kind couple took the little girl back with them to their home in Berlin.

Together the couple showed the girl what it was really like to be happy and taught her almost everything she cherishes today, including her love of self. The mother, Vignette, loved watching cooking shows with the young girl every time they came on, and soon it became a family ritual for them. As she grew older, her mother began to take Catherine into the kitchen, showing her everything she knew about the art of cooking, which had been passed down by her mother before her. Cathy excelled at it, cooking up her own foods and serving her family meals, caring little for the alien controlled world around her. Her parents had kept her inside, trying to hide her exposure to the propaganda as much as possible, that was, until Catherine had expressed her interest in owning her own restaurant. Her parents explained to her, that because of the regime, she wouldn’t be able to live her dreams, that she’d have to settle for being a simple cook at most, and a dishwasher at worst, that was the unfortunate state of the world. However, they reassured the girl, that as long as they were in the home, she could still live her dreams and be the chef she wanted, but it did little to quell her anger.

Cathy nodded and went to her room, but being the rebellious young teenager, she decided to protest the rule. Unbeknownst to her parents, she set up a simple lemonade stand outside their house while they were at work, but it was quickly shut down by Advent officials that forbade civilian controlled businesses. Advent held the girl until her parents came home, where they were confronted. The parents had to pay ludicrous fees for ‘failing to watch the child’ and given a warning. Catherine assumed she’d be punished for the act, but in a way, her parents were proud of her, standing up to the corrupt system, despite the fact that she had cost them so much money. After years of behaving, the family heard a rumor about the rebels recruiting somewhere in the city, providing safe passage out and a chance to fight back. Cathy gladly took that chance, saying farewell to her parents as they saw her off, going into a hiding place set up for the families of the new recruits. The girl is now on her way to join XCOM, ready to fight to reclaim the world of freedoms she had always dreamed about, and always dreamed could be reality once more.

Immediate Family: María (Mother, Deceased), Jésus (Brother, Deceased), Guadalupe (Sister, Deceased), Jorge (Brother, Deceased), María II (Sister, Deceased)

Biography:
Born October 11th, 2014 to María de Miguel Nuñez and an unknown father, José was the youngest of five children, two brother and two sisters. As such, he was the last to receive any boon upon the family - not because he was loathed, Maria loved all her children equally, but because there simply weren’t enough resources to go around. As such, he was frequently dressed in poorly fitting hand-me-downs and eternally hungry - a point of much ridicule amongst the more affluent children at his Catholic school. Whilst his siblings grew proud and headstrong from the verbal abuse they received, José was made of softer stuff, and grew distant, quiet, fearful, and pensive instead. These traits would serve him well soon enough - for at the age of twelve tragedy struck.

Unbeknownst to the family, the priest that gave Mass at their local church also used the facility to organize resistance against ADVENT. Eventually the boot came down upon them, and in a most horrific way: during Sunday Mass. In the initial shots fired by ADVENT, one of them killed María. Fueled by rage, the rest of José’s siblings sprung into action and were cut down when they tried to descend upon the troopers with only their fists. Meanwhile, José hid beneath the pews - crying tears of horror at the sight he beheld, eventually passing out from sheer fright. When he came to, he was in a pile of the dead - tossed there by a careless ADVENT trooper who did not check for life signs or simply did not care. Whether through divine providence or sheer luck, José managed to slip out of the pile unnoticed and fled to the one place he could return to - that of the scrap vendor he worked for after school to try to help make ends meet.

The scrap vendor was not a kind man - but nor was he heartless. He took José in, provided he could work off any debts he incurred through his existence. And here is where the boy discovered his talent - sleeping in a shed filled with scrap parts and discarded tools, he began to experiment and build, learning and growing even after he dropped out of school. This would be how José would spend his days until another significant date of his life - another day of tragedy.

As the saner residents of the city slowly began to move to the Megacities, those that were left were much like José - poor, desperate, and seeking any way to alleviate those conditions. And it was one day during José’s sixteenth year that disaster descended down upon him. Burglars broke into the shop, trying to steal money and/or food whilst the owner was out. Unfortunately for him, José was there instead - and the burglars, seeking any way to work out their anger at life, descended upon the teenager. They slit open his right cheek, and moved to give him the full grin when sudden the owner returned - with friends. Realizing they were outnumbered, the burglars scattered into the streets, whilst the owner and his friends tended to José. Scared, traumatized, and bleeding, only one thought occurred to José: this was a sign from on high - he could no longer rest on his laurels whilst ADVENT continued on with the same atrocities that led to him being placed in this position. This thought festered for the next few years, as José grew and became a man, and would have died away - until a chance encounter with an XCOM agent saw him drawn into the organisation just before its resurgence.

And now only one thought is stuck in his mind, a corrupted version of that rule his religion tried to instill in him so firmly: do unto others what they have done unto you.

Appearance:
The first feature of José’s to jump out at an observer is the massive, ragged scar that stretches from his right cheekbone, down across his mouth, and ceases midway up his left cheek, surrounded by scraggly stubble indicate of one who has never had the chance to shave. From there, one can see the cautious - almost paranoid - glint in his dark brown eyes, peeking through a messy mop of brown hair that curtains around his face - with the rear hanging loose and wild around his shoulders. On the occasions he wears non-XCOM clothing, it shows heavy wear and tear - prompting José to wear layers to help cover up the holes in the coverings. Around his hands and reaching halfway up his forearms are myriads of little scars and discolorations from electrical burns, wrapping around hard callouses on his fingers. His frame is wiry - almost unhealthily so - but thanks to the regular food and proper exercise from serving in XCOM he is slowly beginning to bulk up.

Personality:
José is a cautious, pensive, and observant man - travelling through life with the slow deliberateness of one who has been struck too hard by the blows it throws. He speaks rarely aside from when spoken to, hesitant to use the English he lacks confidence in despite his natural skill. The few moments he can be seen letting his guard down are when he’s shoveling down food and engrossed in some technical work - often getting so engrossed he loses track of the world around him. And even in those moments, he keeps his emotions corked in the bottle within - no matter how full it grows.
