If the refugees come into the UK and stimulate the economy without taking the jobs of native workers (the burden is on the govt and to a lesser extent the immigrants to prove this is true) then that's great. But if they expect political asylum without giving anything back then Parliment shouldn't torpedo their own people's stability to give them a safehouse.

It's interesting hearing this, as there is a lot of debate in Britain currently about opening our borders to a greater extent. My personal opinion is that the refugees need a place to live, which we should help with, however, unfortunately the right wing is growing in popularity, with many racist political groups gaining support, especially from the (and I use this term hesitantly) "lower working class" who feel that they are losing their jobs towards migrants (Polish immigrants are being caught particularly badly in this stereotype). In addition to this, Islamaphobia is rising. It's got to the point where one of the candidates for the Mayor of London is the leader of a Neo-nazi party. I think that the situation will be made worse by the refugee crisis if Britain opens it's borders and there will be a real danger of a far right group gaining power as there will be more dispossessed people looking for a scapegoat, which they will find in the innocent people trying to make themselves a better life.

In short, history is becoming close to repeating itself, as in the 1930s there was a rise in Nationalistic feeling due to the great depression, leading to people blaming the Jews. Everyone knows about the Nazis, but they were far from the only group that gained power from this, just the most "successful". Britain came close, with the Union of Fascists and Italy and Spain both had a fascist government. If people aren't careful, this could be another tipping point.

TL;DR Catch-22: The refugees need help, but this is almost certain to cause bigger problems for them in the future.

Well, look at the bright side...if history does repeat, at least Greece will become Nazi before you. :p

Note: This is only for those who have already read the recent colab posted by me and Zombie.

The Mindfray that Nick used on Diggle has been changed to him just throwing a Hard Drive at his head. It was brought to our attention that Nick unlocking Technokinesis and Mindfray all in one go was unfair and it was recommended to us. Nothing too big, but just letting you know that detail had been changed.

New Starship Compendium update I worked on before the missions. New template for the pirate ships listed there, complete with 25% more fun and 100% less technical mumbo jumbo.

Alright, the thing I can be quoted as saying I would put up 12 goddamn hours ago is now up, just a collection of various drafts conglomerated into an actual post that was just over the character limit and had to be broken into two as a result.

EDIT: Additionally, the second chapter of Judgement Day is now out in a short stories forum near you! What can you expect? Exposition! Foreshadowing! Isaac getting wallhacks! And much more!

Well, I finaly figured out the pun in the name of the story and ot made me slap my forehead at how blind I was.

So Azrael is certainly shaping up to be an interesting character. Not a combat specialist, but I never though to use ESP like he does. He's forcing a very subtle mind merge onto enemy combatents to use ESP through their eyes, and also using it like Desmond did to detect psionic activity, in the sort of focused fashion you can only expect from a Humiliata.

Aha, the third Sam. Samson. I like him and his mannerisms. Got a chill down my spine when he was "threatening" to "ice" Isaac. And his snippiness with the Judge and Spectre was certainly entertaining. As always Tax proves to be a master of dialogue.

Sam... Er, Samantha's jealousy of Raider was entertaining as well. That combined with - oddly enough - the death sounds Tax comes up with show that he is constantly finding ways to give more meat to his writing. And that's always an inspiration (get it?) for me both in how I write and making me WANT to write. The latter i I really needed lately. So thank you, you Glorious Aussie Bastard.

Spectre was rightly terrifying. From his casual manner of killing punctuated by brief moments of comedy shifting seamlessly back into tension, right down to his laser weaponry. That's right. In an age of gauss, pusle, and plasma, Tax reminded you peashooter ballistics and lasers can still kill you dead.

Raider continued to prove that she is best girl by her excellent acting skills and takedown of the 007 bartender.

Noxious took more of a backseat this time but that's not a big deal. Hope to see a little more of him in the future if posssible without detracting from the main story.

It was definetly an interesting design choice to have the strongest, Banshee (that name is REALLY fucking meta for reasons Tax and co. will learn later) be taken out from the start. Nice to fight the middle of the ghost squad, refreshing change from traditional weakest to strongest progression. Gives me some ideas for how to do the royal guard's fights

Love that Isaac has held on to Sam 1's shotgun all this time.

And finally at the end, Sam 3 reminded us that this entire story is about a man seeking revenge for his family. No forgiveness bullshit, Isaac's going to potentially insane lengths to kill Lester. And I love it, as its another example pf how unconventional Judgement Day is being told.
