It'll probably be tomorrow afternoon. Got work tomorrow morning, and tonight I've gotta make sure I'm prepared for a job interview after work. But I should be available anytime after 5 pm (USA Central time). I'll probably do Atka first since I know your schedule is so tight with highschool, then we'll get Scarlet.

Alright then, I shall be ready then, Commander.
I didn't mind changing it, all of the names were made up other than the city anyway. How'd you like your X-COMian emissaries? :p
By the way Adramma, you have no idea how funny it was reading about someone named "Thomas" considering the name of the agent that picked up my two characters, and how different the two "Toms" are. xD

Indeed, I appear to have a knack for picking names that have already been used. Soon I'll begin to reuse names that have already been used, just to be a bastard.

I don't remember the Power Rangers looking so...confused.

Question: once we do the role play, will the alien invasion take a few months to take down, or will it take years.

and question two. Are we still doing squads.

It'll probably take between eight and twelve months.

And missions will have you and several other soldiers will act in the way you write them acting. I described this in more detail in the rules section. This is that particular part:

- Other soldiers sent on the missions are "Red Shirts", to act, perform, and be used as you see fit. In addition, you a free to kill one or two if you wish, just don't do it too often, as it'll make me look bad to the Counsel if I'm losing people left and right.

I think Zombie means we can mention the aliens killing 1 or 2 soldiers but not too many.
Yes, that's what I meant. Please do not have your character panicking every other mission and downing other soldiers. If it happens once, that's fine, but I plan to treat it realistically, since I am still of the belief that a panicked soldier might fire at a shadow that turns out to be an ally, but they won't turn to the man next to them and fire, if a soldier kills another, there will be an investigation, and if happens more then once, that soldier will be considered too great a risk and be discharged.

Yeah, let's go with the long-war style of "when the stars align correctly there might be friendly fire." (That's how I think it works at least, there's a tiny chance of panic causing a soldier to shoot an ally but it almost never happens.) The only situations that would make sense is a soldier coming out of concealment as someone panics, especially if they were flying, in the brush, or using ghost grenades/armor or something. Otherwise I can't really see someone freaking out over a wound and shotgunning their best friend to the face. (Kofee Manana had my respect until he did that...why vanilla why...)

Yes, and let me elaborate a little since I might have come off a little harsh and I don't want to leave the impression that I'm going to be adding special rules left and right (6:30 in the morning for me means a little cranky).

When you run an RP like Odd or Squee and one of your soldiers kills another when they panic, there is nothing you can do about it, and you can't hold it against the RPer. But in this case, where you guys have full control on how your characters act and perform and how missions pan out, with me only here to define mission parameters, when your character does something right, it's on you, and the same when they do something wrong. That doesn't mean they should never do something wrong, because that would be boring, and I hope at least one person accidentally hits someone with friendly fire. But if, in the game, two soldiers run up to your character, he smiles and waves at them, and upon seeing one of their heads blown off, your character suddenly points their gun at the other one and blows his head off too, that's the AI's fault, but of it happens here, it's gonna raise an eyebrow.

The commencement speech is ready to be posted. I'll do so once PrismaCube and BMPixy get their -1 week posts up (Not that I'm rushing you, of course)

I was curious as to whether you guys wanted to do the "first encounter" mission, aka the tutorial mission. Basically, I'd choose one of you at random, you'd go on Operation: Devil's Moon in Berlin with three NPCs, and you would describe the events that lead to the death of the other three soldiers, with your character being the only survivor.

Additionally, do we want cybernetics and gene-modding to be volunteer only, or did you want it to be mandatory on order from the Commander? I would personally prefer volunteer, but we can do whatever you guys want.

I was thinking that, in order to make sure everyone gets to go on at least one special mission, that I'd allow individuals to request one of those missions. Ask for one each, and if more then one person asks for the same mission, we'll either discuss who should go on it, flip a coin, or one of you can step down and pick a different one. You can pick anyone of them except the Newfoundland mission. In light of Anna Stone's interest in Chryssalids, Frostlich gets first pick on that one, if Ammelia wants it.

I'll be honest, I haven't played a full campaign of XCOM in so long, I barely remember all the special missions. So I'll just take whatever falls through the cracks. Or you know, accompany other people, should they desire it so.

Here is a quick list of the missions I was talking about (Sorry, don't have the names memorized). Let me know if I forgot any.

- The escort misson for EXALT saboteur, before EXALT is officially revealed.

- Zhang's save-the-briefcase mission

- The plant-the-relays-on-the-train-mission

-The UFO mission the train mission opens up

- The fishing town mission with the Chryssalids

- The first base assault

- The mission to save Annette

- The missIon that opens after that

The Base defense and final mission will obviously include everyone.

Thanks Zombie! I'm not sure if I want newfoundland though... I still have nightmares...
I'll think about it and get back to you okay? :)

I Think that's up to you commander... I don't think we'll end up with a lot of people who want their limbs removed but you never know I guess. :p Mandatory would really ruin your PR but we'd be in a better situation against the aliens if we had a lot of MECS Punching faces in all day. I guess we'll see how desperate we get trying to defeat the aliens, should be fun!

Also I have a question, are we going to have any MEC/ Gene-Modded Redshirts or are those exclusively for us RPers?
