X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Interesting. All sounds like fun. Just makes me all the more eager to get started. And all the extra soldiers mean more people get in.

That sounds like the best option. Why can't you use the same squad? Does the game factor in fatigue for soldiers that hit the field too often without rest?

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Sounds thrilling. And hard. 'Course, Odd's a lot better at this game then I am, so I'm sure he can handle it. Still, sounds like we're gonna lose a lot of soldiers. Almost makes me want to go for a doctor character, but I'll probably stick with scientist. So, when do you guys think he'll...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I see. Well, it should be interesting, though I hope that if he does do it, he'll practice it a little so he has an idea what he is in for. The new rules in this game can really bite you in the ass if you aren't prepared. I'm sure we've all had to deal with that at one time or another. And as...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Don't forget about engineers. I was tempted to go for that, but the science aspects are more my thing. The only thing I'm not really interested in is pilot, because that seems to be a position where you don't get to do much, especially if you end up piloting in a region that doesn't get much...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Don't get me wrong, I loved playing as a soldier. I just wanted to try something new. And besides, I already had my turn as a soldier, so I'd rather play as a scientist and let some new be a soldier. Plus, I've played the game enough time to have a strong grasp of the scientific aspects, and I...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I plan on reapplying with the character I was going to use for season four, but this time as a scientist. Don't get me wrong, being a soldier was fun, I just want to try something different, something that lets me experience X-COM in a different way.

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Name: Ayame Kasagi (Season 3) Position: Soldier Most of Ayame's history was detailed in the season three logs, ao this will be a brief sum-up. Having no chance to use Ayame in combat during season two, I reintroduced her in season three, but as per the new character rules, her back story was...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Name: Ayame Kasagi (Season 2 Version) Occupation: Soldier (Rookie) Taking advantage of season two's lack of regulations and character rules, I designed Ayame to have a supernatural background. Based on a Chinese Hopping vampire/zombie known as a Jianshi, Ayame was a "young" woman who wandered...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Same here. I was finally able to get on by taking the "www." off the URL. Quite frustrating. Of course, I also agree that news of a new season would help liven things up.

Good idea. It would explain why the X-COM spy is always found out. Of course, you'd have to be prepared for when EXALT is eventually dealt with, as well as the fact that people will eventually grow suspicious of EXALT's technology and start looking for a spy.

I'd recommending modeling your character's action after the game's Exalt missions. Just like X-COM sends soldiers out undercover to steal info, maybe have your character do the same, blending in while secretly sending Exalt weapon blueprints and staff info. You could even have an instance were...

Should be interesting. I plan to include an implication in my profile mentioning that my character caught the attention of Exalt and one of the reasons she was brought into X-COM was to keep her from being recruited by others. If we both get in, maybe that'll come into play.

Sounds like a good idea. So good in fact that I was thinking of doing it myself, but I figured others would want to do it too, so I changed my mind. Besides, I like playing the good guy too much.

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

A sad ending to a short season, but what can you say? This is an alien invasion story, and they don't always end well. If this is anything like last time, all this loss will do is motivate Odd to come back stronger then ever. I only hope I can get in this time. I was disappointed when I wasn't...
