X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

I've always just learned them as I played. It also helps that the number of Gen six pokemon is only about, what, 100?

Hmm, your right! I just looked it up, and a remake of the original games was included in the MGS HD Collection. Thanks! I know what game I'll be buying tomorrow.

All depends on both the time and money you've got. With it's availability, I'd go ahead and buy the original if you have the time to play it. Think of it like this: when Metal Gear Solid came out, it came with a synopsis of Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake for those of us who weren't lucky...

I once participated in a buffalo wing eating contest. Does that count as a sport? I mean, it was a competition with a prize. Other then that, I haven't watched or played sports since highschool. I remember playing touch football...until someone clotheslined me and I had to go to the nurses office.

Personally, I can't believe the Besaid Aurochs actually beat the Luca Goers. I heard it was because of that new blitzer. He's like something out of a dream. And then monsters showed up and the new Measter summoned his mom, a giant, creepy aeon that was crying blood and blowing up the monsters...

Personally, I'm more traditional in the whole naming thing, sticking to they're original names. I nicknamed them a bit when I was younger, but I like to mix and match my teams, trying to use different pokemon to keep things fresh, and it would get annoying if I had to remember which pokemon was...

I don't think anyone is going to argue that they didn't make a lot of...questionable decisions with the gen. five pokemon. After all, it is a game where your team can consist of a candle, an ice cream cone, a gear, a snowflake, a tick, and a bag of garbage.

I, too, am on the "Gardevoir is awesome" train, and I was glad that it got a mega evolution. My other favorites include Arcanine, Misdreavus, Absol, Magnezone, Volcarona, and Aegislash. My favorite legendary is Giratina, and I'm also a big Eevee fan (still waiting for that ghost evolution. They...

Not to mention the introduction of the move Snore, making Snorlax OP with his ability to just take a quick nap to heal up and still take pot-shots at the opponent while doing so.

I had snorlax in my main party for Pokemon Y. He was my iinsurance, always ready to bail me out of a jam.

It might make me sound old, but until Pokemon Y took the top spot, Yellow was my favorite. 'Course, I'm no spring chicken, but they did a lot of things right with that one, particularly with the story, and besides, Yellow was my favorite character from the manga, even if she was a bit ...

I'm right there with you. I understand the appeal of sports games, but for me, it gets boring and repetitive too fast. Its akin to playing a fighting game with no special moves, where you can only punch or kick. I don't know, maybe its just because I'm not a sports fan. I'd rather just get the...

I mean no offense to people who play Call of Duty. It isn't my thing, but I see why other people enjoy it. That being said, I am sick and tired of hearing people talk like they're gamers when Call of Duty is the ONLY game they play. I wouldn't even find it so irritating if they didn't act like...

I'll see your friends that are ahead of you and friends with differing interests, and rase you a lack of friends entirely. Unfortunately, chatting on this sight is often the most social interaction I get.

If you want to know the story but you don't have time to look up old PS1 games, I'd recommend the Resident Evil novelization by S.D. Perry. They're kinda like what the Resident Evil movies would have been like if Paul W. S. Anderson cared about the story or the audience. And you get to brag to...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Exactly what I was thinking. The meld is necessary to make gene mods and cybernetics with special powers, but they wouldn't need meld for simple biological or mechanical replacements that function the same as normal body parts. Hell, it isn't all that far into sci-fi anyway. We're already...

X-COM THINK TANK (Out of Character Discussion about X-COM and the Series)

Of course, with the advances made with bio-engineering and cybernetics in X-COM, there is no reason someone couldn't have a permanent injury and still continue to function at or near 100%. A lost eye can be compensated for with some meld, and lost hand can be replaced with a cybernetic one like...

I've had a few ones that have worked well, such as sprinting snipers and non-heavies with bullet-storm. A lot of times, though, I get some useless things. I've had a whole session with no supports with triple medpacks. Some times it pays off when you get late abilities early, like the later...
