(The scuffling of boots and sliding bars breaks Rick from his ever interesting focus on the wall and back to the real world. He listens to the parting words as somebody is put into the cell behind the cement wall he is leaning on. For lack of a better thing to do, he decides to strike up a conversation when the room empties)

Rick: So, what are you in for?

Ayame: (Weakly) W-what?...uh, beating the (cough) hell out of a crewman, I suppose....and you?

Rick: I was... I don't know what I was doing. Got into a fight with security.

Ayame: Okay, if you say so. Look, I hate to be rude, but I'm not really up to...(violent coughing)

Rick: (sighing) So they are giving it to you as bad as I thought. How are you holding up?

Ayame: (Weak chuckle) Oh, nothing a little tiger balm can't fix.

(Several minutes of silence)

Ayame: What's...what's your name?

Rick: I suppose it would only be fair to tell you who I was; Rick Warren.

Ayame: Kasagi Ayame.

(Several more minutes of silence)

Ayame: Rick, huh? Are you the guy that made a fuss when Ari...at the morgue?

Rick: Yeah, it's why I'm here.

Ayame: Aribeth said she was spending a lot of time with someone. She didn't mention his name, but her face lit up whenever she talked about him. She was my friend and I was devastated when we lost her, but if you're the guy she was talking about, it must have hurt you more then me and all my friends combined.

(Rick stays silent for a moment, forcing the tearing of his eyes from progressing any further before speaking)

Rick: There was a lot left unresolved. It was over before anything had any real chance to begin. Now I have a lot of cleaning up to do...

Ayame: Yeah, well, this...this probably doesn't mean a whole lot coming from someone you don't know, but thank you. Thank you for making her...last days happy ones.

Rick: It was the least I could do... she deserved more than this world had to offer. Then again, I guess that goes for most of us these days.

Ayame: That might be true for most people, but as for me...(fit of violent coughing)

Rick: The fact that you're here is more than reason enough for that to include you.

Ayame: (Weakly) Well, that's nice of you to say, but somehow, i doubt the people who put me here would agree with you.

Rick: I think that's giving them too much credit.

Ayame: (Laughs softly, then starts coughing) Oh man, it hurts to laugh!...(sigh) I...I'm not...I don't have the cleanest past, and at the very least, I've always been a little brat that let her temper run wild. (Cough) I guess you can say this is some sort of penance. (Weak laugh) I'm not sure why I just said that. You probably don't care.

Rick: Your past doesn't really matter. In the end, it led you here for the right reasons. From here, you can do better things.

Ayame: Well, you sure know how to charm a girl. I can see why Aribeth liked you so much.

Rick: Well, it was nice talking to you. I think I'm gonna catch some rest.

Ayame: Yeah, that's probably a good idea, but.....could, you..do me a favor?

Rick: Hmm?

Ayame: ( Voice cracks slightly) W-when you get out of here, can you find a trainee named Anna Stone and tell her...tell her Ayame said sorry for letting you down.

Rick: If you don't first, sure.

Ayame: ....thank you.

Death...

It pains me to write this. Even now I am still remembering the horrible events that occurred from last mission. It was all extremely unfortunate. I practice twice the amount I usually do now, mostly because I blame myself for last mission, even though I know it was nobody's fault but the alien's. I still am not getting over it.

It was a special mission given to us directly by the council. Thanks to the Intel Zhang got us, we were able to form together a plan to stop an alien ship from terrorizing the planet more than it already is. Our mission was to get the train to destroy its navigational computer. At the moment, however, the battleship was approaching fast, so we had to get down there as soon as possible. On the mission was Momma Bear, Aribeth, Morisato, a rookie, Kael Kessler, and me. The mission was like any other at first. Some thin men showed up, some thin men blew up into clouds of gas. Then, it started to get crazy.

First, a giant ass brute dropped out of the sky. He was obviously the elephant in the room, so we concentrated all of our fire at him taking him down with more shots than intended. As Momma Bear activated another transponder, more brutes showed up and it went to chaos.
More brutes started dropping in, and a lone thin man moved up and poisoned Kessler. Kessler, blinded by the poison cloud tried to shoot a rocket at the brute, but missed and hit right above the rookie, knocking him unconscious. I quickly took out one of the brutes to avoid more trouble, but I wasn't fast enough to take out the other one. A Thin man snuck up on Kessler and shot her down, and the brute threw the same grenade that my brother used to kill the alien back at my apartment to finish her off. I tried to shoot at the Muton's gun with the special ammo Dr. Shen gave me, but I missed it. Momma bear took action and turned on the last transponder and hurried into the control room, but Ariebeth got swallowed up by the amount of aliens and could fight no longer as a thin man ended her life. More brutes started dropping in, the battleship was almost in position. Momma Bear pressed the button and dove out the train. sending all the aliens to their own destruction on the train. We would have celebrated, but we had to get the wounded rookie on the ship ASAP. We took him home and escorted him to the medbay on a stretcher. Afterwards, we said our goodbye's to those lost last mission.

The missions are getting harder. We are losing more and more soldiers. Tomorrow, I'm going to convince the Commander to open the open the Officer Trianing School for everyday classes for the new soldiers. I don't want anymore good soldiers dying to those things anymore. The fate of human beings is in the hands of the Xcom Project, and I would prefer if it saves lives.

Alright. Password protected this log, as well as various other logs detailing personal stuff like the Incident and my backstory, just so that it doesn’t seem odd that there is only one password protected log. Forty-four bits of entropy should do the trick against any crackers as well.

Anywho, now that I have secured this log against all hackers, I suppose I should detail the plan I proposed to Joseph and Anna to get Ayame out of custody. To start, we all each file an incident report (of which I will attach a copy to this log) against Brigadier Chapman, Ayame’s ‘interrogator’. This gets him called in for questioning. Whether or not our lies are discovered or not does not matter. It is the questioning part that matters. Once they do unto him slightly less what he has done unto others, they will hopefully find out the truth regarding his serious misconduct, and have him removed.

Now, that is the part of the plan I have told those two. As much as I trust them to do the right thing, a few faulty testimonies is not enough to get Ayame released. No, what will really bring about the turnabout is a few resources I was lucky enough to discover, thanks to my connection with Dr. Vahlen. One, thanks to some...admittedly poor choices by me, I accidently discovered records of an ‘empath’ among the soldiers. His name is John, last name redacted. If we do get to the questioning of Chapman, I shall request his presence as an ‘impartial observer’ to ensure that no human rights violations occur. Likely he’ll be accompanied by Dr. Vahlen, and I have alerted both of them to the parts of the plan involving them. If he truly is an empath, he’ll be able to catch Chapman in his web of lies, and strangle him with it. Metaphorically.

The second resource is a bit more controversial. In fact, it can barely be called a resource. What is it, one might ask? The suit that was lurking around this place, or, as we now know him, a Thin Man. It shall be proposed as an alternate suspect to the initial case, and a much more likely one, considering we have actual testimonies, not false ones, as to its malicious intent towards X-COM personnel. If it all comes together, we should have an incarcerated interrogator, an acquitted Ayame, and a Thin Man to track. Hopefully it works, haven’t made a plan like this since I got Grabovsky out of some...interesting charges regarding misuse of UN resources.

Anywho, incident report is attached, Foulke out.

X-COM Incident Report
Trainee Lance Corporal Richard Foulke

While this is my second Incident Report in the past several days, it is because of that report that I am filing this report. One Brigadier Chapman requested my presence in Interrogation Room #3, claiming that I needed to be questioned regarding the contents of the previous Incident Report, and any connections to the assault of Lieutenant Chapman that I might know of. Once I entered the Interrogation Room, I noticed that the cameras were disabled, due to the lights underneath the camera being red rather than green, and the Brigadier was not present. I assumed I had arrived early, and stepped further inside. The next thing I know, the door is sealed behind me, and I am tackled from behind. My head impacted the table, and I shoved the assaulter away. I managed to get a look at him, and while I was not able to recognize the man himself, he had the Brigadier rank symbol on his uniform, and he bore a striking semblance to Lt. Chapman. He growled at me, “This is for trying to get my brother fired, you damn limey.” He then struck me in the face with his fist, knocking me to the ground. He stomped on my leg, obviously intending to break it, but missed and merely impacted the thigh. This enraged him more, and so he stepped on my chest, then sat down on me, and proceeded to punch me in the face multiple times. I held up a hand to stop him, but he pulled the arm out of my socket. With that he removed himself from my person, and kicked me in the stomach one last time, before spitting on me, threatening to have me removed from X-COM if I reported this incident, and then leaving. However, he did not count on me not caring whether or not I remained in this project or not, and my duty to report any counts of serious misconduct to my superiors.

Included in this report are images of the injuries received.

You no, ever since I got arrested and sent down here I had nothing but time, and iv been thinking the same thing over and over and over again, and that is why did I do it.Why did I bull rush the interrogation and beat the crap out of that interrogator, hold on let me think about my criminal history let me see.I killed two thousand people, what else I murdered my own mother to get in to the my fathers mafia,I blue up the Greek embassy in Washington dc, I blacked mailed very wealth people, and drove them to the ground and then sold them to the to slaver,I have done so many evil bad things to people with no hesitation or fear, but when I see a women getting beat I lose my mind and try to save her. Why did I do it,there is nothing special about this women, she bleeds like me,she feels pain like me and every one else on this planet,so why did I do it.Is she the key to my salvation,is she the one to save me from my past,to change me into a better human being.or is it because i'm tired, tired of being the bad guy, tired of doing evil things tired of doing evil thing for people that deserve killing, tired of............tired of living in my past. i'm tired of my past,I joined x-com to get a second chance at life,to change my self to be me, the real me, I want to be the man my real dad wanted me to be,some won who would come to his friends aid no matter what, some on who you can come and talk to about any thing, some one you can trust.Ah so that's why I did it,I did it to officially restart my self,so here are my ghouls if i'm some how still with x-com and they decided not to terminate me,I will try and save that women and after that,i'm gonna give Anna a very long over dew apology for what i did so long ago,and then i'm gonna step up as a farther and be with my kid.But since that is highly unlikely I just want to say to that women even though she can't her me thank you, thank you for making me realize that even I can be redeemed, thank you so much. endtransmistion#

I have many regrets: getting married that 3rd time, selling those shredder rocket blueprints, not smoking enough cigars. But GODDAMN why did I volunteer for guard duty. Get placed outside an interrogation room with Jenkins, buen tipo, bit small for security work. Nothing unusual happens...Until some guy runs up to us, claiming he punched the guy the other day. Jenkins tells him this area is restricted, ignores us and pushes past. I gave the guy 20 mins, I no dé una mierda about regulations, more interrogators makes more results. Shut the door, back to duty. Later, the guy walks back out with, guess who? no go on... No? that SAME CRAZY JAPANESE GIRL, Jesús, It's like I'm determined to get caught up in whatever interesting crap seems to happen in this base. I tell him to put the damned girl down..AND HE GRABS JENKINS ARC THROWER AND TASES HIM, I wait for that bastard to turn round and stun the shit outta him. Poor Jenkins. Interrogator looks pretty worse for wear, I asked him what to do and he tells me to give him back the loco girl and take the loco guy down to the lower levels. What a day. Everyone here is absolutely mad.

So I was walking around in the lower parts of the base today. It's always pretty empty down there, so I often go down there to think. Today I was thinking about my conversation with "Spear of Athena," the A.I. that's apparently been in our base for 60 some years. I was also thinking about talking to the commander about it, but he's been locked up in his command center round the clock. A lot of my bunk mates were pissed at him a few days ago when he let some soldiers die in the field. I mean, I get it. I be pretty pissed too if my friends died for nothing.

While I was walking through the orange steel corridors of lower-ops, I spotted some soldier guarding an interrogation room. I decided to turn around and take the darker path through the machine block, where the only company is clicking servos and stale air. As I turned away, I think I heard an Arc Thrower go off in the room, so not sure what happened there.

Walking through the machine block is like a taking a weird acid trip. The only thing lighting the path is red lights coming off of hard drives and the occasional dim, haunting turquoise LED's. According to the map at the entrance, the catwalk actually spans the entire base, coming together in intersections under engineering and command. It looks like there are huge facilities under them, and eventually I'd like to explore the whole base.

My destination today, though, was where a branch where the catwalk just seems to end under a storage space on the far end of the base, to the north. It was a long walk across the deep pit under the base, at least three miles. the catwalk ends at a small arch cut into the concrete bulkhead, containing a myriad of hatches that look like they've been welded shut for the better part of a century. They were posted with tons and tons of vitrification orders and orders and letters of condemnation, even a few warning about nuclear byproducts and chemical burns.

I really want to find out what's in there, but I don't think I'll be able to, seeing as I'm out of thermite. I walked back to the other side of the base, roughly 6 miles south of the hatches. Just for fun, I used a vent shaft to get up the 4 floors to my barrack. Scared the hell out of my bunk mates when I dropped from the ceiling, and I totally pulled it off too. Didn't make eye contact, just said hey and walked off. I must have looked so badass.

( OOC ) Ok I am SOOOOOO SAD!!!

I can't believe the season is over....IT just started FFS!!!!

509 journal entrys detailing our characters and now we have to start all over again with new ones...

That is sooo sad :(

I was going to be the next recruit too...

Maybe during the next season we can start where we left off in season two, because I don't think Zombiesplitter wants to restart her character and I know I sure don't :(

...Who else wants to document their soldiers after X-COM disbands, I think that be a good use for them, instead of throwing all our hard work out.

I kind of really want to do this. In my last journal, I started to set up an awesome side-story. I'm going to have to take this in a totally new direction now....

OOC: Well, looks like Foulke was right. This was a lost cause. Whether or not we can re-use our characters in S3, I will have an 'ending' for Foulke either way. So until Odd makes his decision on that matter, auf wiedersehen season 2. May S3 go better.

Well, Ayame will definatly be back for season three. As for her current situation, I think I'll make my last post, so at the very least, that isn't left unresolve.

I can't bear to watch the rest of the video. Saw the KIA's immediately and stopped watching. Can anyone explain how the next season is going to work?'

As for me, Ill definitely have to write a new character.

Im pretty sure its going to be a first come first serve kind of deal just like in Season 1 and 2.
Atleast you have a good idea of what your recruit is going to be and his personality. I need to think of another character that could potentially have a well made up story.

I had a plan for a Gay Male character who has that disorder where the person is unable to feel pain, but since I am continuing Anna's story you could use that character idea if you want :)

You know, even though my guy died. I laughed. Remember when this was posted about a month ago?

An email just went out today. Somehow a fully sentient (sapient? I always get those two mixed up) AI has made its way into the base. First it was Aliens, next was the rumors about a ghost , and now we have a rogue AI on board. Seriously, what's next? Zombies?

Considering how he died and the fact that he had a habit of pointing out irony, I can't stop smiling.
