Lore of Demon Society

Back in the Dark Ages, people told fanciful stories about creatures that defied all rational explanation. Monsters, Demons, or Angels. Yet, these stories were chalked up to rumour and myth, as the world advanced in technology and science.

But what if the rumors had been true? If things really did lurk in the dark? If Demons, and Monsters truly existed? What would keep these malicious forces at bay, and protect humanity? More Demons and Monsters, of course! As Humanity lost sight of the fantastical world around it, groups of demons, monsters, and even angels, banded together in order to protect humanity, and thus protect the balance of power, so it never shifted away from the humans.

Lore of Demon Society, cont.

Humans don't know of the pact the other groups made, and ate unaware of any of the fantastical world. As such, most creatures have to wear, or conjure disguises to mask their true identity. Any demon, angel or monster found by any faction to be out of their typical guises, are sentenced to execution by Hunters, the employed mercenaries of the fantastical world.

However, these mercenaries are not the only law enforcement around, as various offices, of various calibers, sprang up around the world, effectively acting as both policemen and Military. These offices vary, as some may be filled with the undead, and others with angels, so no office is directly the same.

However, as more modern times have become more relaxed, less offices have stayed open, resulting in large crime waves, by all species. This is the start of the Demon Society, an organization trying to reestablish order and pick up the pieces.

Class Unit: Hunter

Hunters are a class design for constant assault. Having fast, often powerful attacks, Hunter take targets down with ease. Hunters usually don't work well against multiple targets and tend to aggro too much for their own good. Most Hunter have the tendency to become rule breakers and mercenaries, becoming enemies of the Society in most cases. Hunter also often prefer ranged weaponry and spells, as they don't do well if their caught out.

the most well known Hunters are:
Jack "The Ripper"
Dervish Grimlocke
Zeke Zanterson
and Thedias Thornspitter

Class Unit: Magus

Magi are a high spell power class. As Hunters focus on one target, Magi are more capable of spreading their damage across all targets. Magi, however, are not the best at dueling on target. Though weapons are required for classification, it is rare that a magus will ever use their's. If a Magus would to require use of a weapon, they usually pick a ranged one.

the most well known Magi are:
any and all Wisp units
Code Grid

Shela Zanterson
and Racain Steelslicer

Class Unit: Soldier

Soldiers are a class focused entirely on durability. The qualifications to become a soldier are considered the hardest to achieve. Soldiers, however, lack the power and magic to deal with targets on their own. With one is to be a soldier, solo-missions are generally harder and Soldiers tend to prefer group-missions. A Soldier is a hard target to take down, so when fighting on, don't waste your energy.

the most well known Soldiers are:
The Grand Elder Diablo
Timeless Death
Gemma Smith
and Gretak the Unstoppible

Class Unit: Healer

Little is known of the healers of the Demon race. Most either die in battle or refuse to talk to the Society. We do know the being a healer requires being born with a "healing touch." Healers are considered jacks-of-all-trades, due to the fact that healing is not apart of their training, but rather something they do naturally.

The only known healer is Dollie Flower, as she is the only healer to become a member.

Low-tier characters:

Low-tier characters are strong when compared to humans, but weak when compared to other magical beings. This doesn't mean that they aren't useful, nor does it mean that they aren't good characters. They specialize in strategy, tending to help strategize with their comrades in order to defeat opponents.

Mid-tier Characters:

Mid-tier characters are generally the frontline soldiers, in major battles, generally having the proper combat skills needed to engage in wars, battles, or black ops. They are strong, capable of defeating armies, and are powerful. However, this does not mean they are invincible, as they have limits to their strength.

High-tier characters:

The best way to describe characters like this are God-like. These people can fight multiple armies composed of magical beings, i.e. monsters, demons, angels, etc. They wield immense power, and can decimate mid-tier forces, as well as lose to them. The best method to fighting a high-tier, is with a high-tier. For specific reasons, character development of the character becoming high-tier is the only way of having a high-tier. GMs are allowed to create High-tier characters for the sake of story.
