That said, generations of games eventually push PCs out of viability. XCOM2 was a little rough on my old rig but it could handle it. I tried to run Destiny 2 on the old computer well after I'd retired it for the lulz, and oh lord did it chug. Thankfully only AAA games boundary-push like that.

I maintain that gaming would be in a better place if the industry focused all of its time and tech on pc. Everyone has a pc, and would buy higher end pcs instead of consoles consistently if everything was on pc. Keep controllers around for games that work better with them, of course. But...
