"No More Room in Hell" Think Tank

Bit of a necropost but w/e. I've seen it snow in Monument Valley. Maybe I just took the wacky Texas weather with me. Having played through the Dark Souls series now (no Demon Souls since I don't have a console), I can say that the storytelling method is a matter of preference, but it could...

Yeah, I heard Sekiro was "you have to parry to win", the game, and that's the one thing in Dark Souls I can't do, so...

Playing Dark Souls 3 PVP, ran into a katana user named "Ayame." Hmmm.

Happy Turkey Day, everyone! Hope you're all doing well. The break's been a godsend for my stress levels.

Knights of the Roundtable Think Tank

That said, generations of games eventually push PCs out of viability. XCOM2 was a little rough on my old rig but it could handle it. I tried to run Destiny 2 on the old computer well after I'd retired it for the lulz, and oh lord did it chug. Thankfully only AAA games boundary-push like that.

Knights of the Roundtable Think Tank

That's what the friend I discussed this with said, but like I told him, here's my thought: if you can afford to buy a current-gen console to play console games, imagine if there were no consoles and you could buy a pc for around that cost instead. Consolidation still works. If you can neither...

Knights of the Roundtable Think Tank

I maintain that gaming would be in a better place if the industry focused all of its time and tech on pc. Everyone has a pc, and would buy higher end pcs instead of consoles consistently if everything was on pc. Keep controllers around for games that work better with them, of course. But...

Popping in to ask @Black0ut something out of curiosity. I ran into someone called BlackOut in Destiny 2 today, on Titan. That wasn't you by any chance was it?

Yakone it could have gone one of two ways, I'd never actually quite decided. In the Story of Defiance timeline she was never a soldier or fighter at all, but a scientist. That spark of curiosity still existed in her in Liberation of Earth, but she had other priorities and that shaped her a bit...

Had to track it down: a guy called 'Milkyway_0114.' Japanese, of course.

And this is why I think I'm going to cap off my discussion of this particular thing. It seems like the goalposts keep getting moved without anything actually being accomplished. I basically don't see anything in the representation of most orcs that would be what Frost would consider problematic...

On the subject of the 'shunned minority' thing, I again think you're reading far too much real-world issues into fantasy stories. In real life, minority groups are not creatures twisted by magic into monstrous beings who feed on humanoid flesh and exist for war alone. I don't think you can...

I mean, orcs aren't really the focus of Lord of the Rings though. I kind of got into this with my initial line of thought, but to expand upon it, it's a matter of story economy. Within a story, you have a given amount of space for practical reasons. You cannot cover everything, and you must...

"Actions speak louder than words, but they can be forgotten, exaggerated, or understated... if you're seeing this, dear reader, then I'm glad someone will get to remember me - my failures and triumphs alike." - Yakone's epilogue.

Remind me, there are no bells ringing in my head. What was the conversation with magic? The only thing I can think of is Sela and one of your characters chatting while I incorporated flexes of her magic into the pacing, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

Hey man, if people keep getting my noggin joggin about storytelling philosophy, I'll be much more chatty.
